Ok, anyone have a good link for a noob to read about how to do carbon fiber chasis prep? What type of file/sandpaper to use, what type of CA, tips/tricks and things not to do? This is my first CF kit, want to make sure I do it right! thanks

1 x 6465 shock piston kit
1 x 31140 ITF chassis
1 x 31141 ITF top deck
1 x 31220 1.0 degree rr hub
1 x 31179 Spool kit
1 x 31175 Spool Pulley
2 x 3944 TC3/4 gold spring (19.5lb)
2 x 3943 TC3/4 blue spring (17.0lb)
1 x 31261 1.25mm sway bar

All of the above items will turn the TC5 into a 'weapon' on asphalt with rubber tires. The most important items are the chassis/topdeck and spool.

Hope this helps,

Leonard.

Ca'ing chassis thread

Team CRC guide to chassis prep

The CRC guide is a GREAT!!!

The most important thing to do is to make sure that the edges are all smooth and rounded off (and that the main deck/chassis is glued, I do not glue/seal my top decks, shock towers in order to prevent possible tweaking from the change in dimensions that the gluing/sealing process can cause.)

Equipment needed:

* 600-800 grit sand paper
* Thin CA glue (with applicator - very fine tips)
* cotton buds
* motor spray (to clean carbon fibre after sanding - removing residue)
* lint free cloth

Hope this helps.

Leonard.

I noticed on the list of parts for asphalt that there is a 1.25mm sway bar listed. The pictures that I've seen and the description of the kit show sway bars. don't they come with the kit?

Just finshed my diff's. Nice build much better than previous models. Super smooth. One thing PITA is the diff nut you have to press in the plactic holder. Kind of a pain as it needs to seat all the way down. be careful its a tight fit.

The right sized flat blade screw driver and a quick smack with a wrench got mine to seat all the way down.
