Thanks Warwick. I will try and post some more details on setups and any other things as they develop.

As for the question regarding the TC5's durability........I can't say how it goes on tracks with 4x2 board markers, but so far I have had a couple of major crashes (my fault and not my fault), where the car has landed heavily and nothing bent, tweaked or broken yet.

But keep in mind, I do race on asphalt, outdoors and tracks I tend to race on don't use timber to mark out the layout. (just pipes and concrete curbs).

And finally, YES the battery strap is included (with thumb screws). Nice touch. I just chose to use tape as I worry about chassis tweak with carbon fibre battery straps. Just being over cautious on my part.

Hope this helps.

Leonard.

P.S. I will have another pic of the car up by the weekend with a reconfigured electrics layout and car balanced from left to right.

ran 3 packs to prep for RROC tonight... some thoughts

havent been on asphalt/rubbers since xmas and about halfway through the first pack i was full wood with confidence. car tracked straight as an arrow and handling was comfortable and predicatable...

Transmission was butter smooth... right away... diffs started smooth and after 3 runs were exactly the same...

car build was awesome, except for some tight shock ballcups the car basically builds itself... parts fit great and has very littleplay anywhere... very nice

car is LIGHT... holy moly, im staring at it right onw deciding where to add weight... car has no roll bars, itf chassis and topdeck, qc2, phaser receiver, airtronics 94357, I-PT, IB4200wc's, mazda 6 regular (and i paint thick! 5-6 coats of spray) and i just weighed it in at 1488.35 ... 1.29 oz under...

what can i say, big smiles all around

now if i can just remember how to drive on asphalt i'll be set

I can just see it now. My car arrives in the post, I open the box and in a swurly, glittery thing, the parts levitate and start going together. Then, when the car is all but finished, a booming voice from some unlocated source says "Now, pop them ball cups on and go race My son.... Race with confidence and WIN!!!!"

Nice.

has anyone seen the itf chassis and top plate in stock anywhere in the US? I am getting my tc5 on Friday and just want to build with the itf chassis right from the start.

Thanks,

Jay

Just checking in on the new ride. Car looks great.

Someone jam an Orion/Peak 4800 Lipo in their new TC5 and take a pic please. If it fits this car will be a huge club racer success.

With the Orion 4800 it looks like the top deck gets in the way of one of the connectors. Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm in the market for a new TC chassis, and whatever I go for has to fit the Orion 4800.

This is Rick talking about the 4800 lipo:

And they say nobody is using LiPo.

The reality is, if you build a car that can't take the Orion LiPo, you will LOSE sales. I'd say we have our standard size, we just don't know it yet. Glad to hear the TC5 gets it right. I agree, this car could revive club racing.

What, you going to be dumping the Type R now to get a TC5?

Na, I'm deliriously happy with the car I'm using, it suits me perfectly. But I care about R/C as a whole, and it's nice to see things that seem to be a good thing for the hobby, rather than some company trying to gouge its loyal fans, possibly at the expense of R/C as a whole.

And I've been an AE fan since way back, having raced the original RC10 as a kid in off-road and a dirt oval conversion back in the mid 80's, during its prime. I hope to see them thrive.
