The hardest part is that it continues to increase and does not top out until qualifying. So you have to know what to do so that when you practice, you are not perfecting the car, but instead getting it to a point so that you willknow it willbe good when the grip level increases.

With rubber outdoor, there is new and used tire grip levels, and morning and afternoon grip levels, which makes it easier to find the right setup in practice.

I would love to see these races go to rubber tire. I am not exactly sure what the appeal of foam tires is. But next year will be better as we will have the resources to have cars racing full time for testing and development.

I am hoping that shortly after the kit is released there will be some aluminum rear hubs released as well.

Exactly. And sometimes its just a matter of who guesses right!! LOL

Not sure about going to all rubber tire. But it might put the US in sync with the rest of the world and put more of the US Mod drivers on pace faster at the big rubber tire races...Not that they are that far off anyway!!

If they are going to race straight rubber tires. I want a sponsor. Foams I get are better for me. At least till Rick said what he did. Now I'm questioning racing TC. There are to many tire and insert combo's. Never mind a new pair every race. If that is required. It makes TC racing difficult. Chassis and tires be overwhelming. They need to narrow down the tires and inserts for races and try and keep the cost down.

Offroad is so much easier to race and less complicated. Never mind the cost savings and no traction compound.

Rick how did the Cactus Classic go ? I enjoyed racing with you when I did get the chance. My favorite motor is still the "Rick's Pick" 13T Triple. I know that goes back a ways. Pink sticker and all.

It doesn't get much easier than premounted rubber tires. I can't remember the last time I've seen where everyone is running open tires. Most although not all tracks have converted to premounts and or just have a gentlemens agreement to run premounts

I just cleaned out my shop this week and came across a 13 gallon garbage bag almost full of 1 or 2 run foams from the last 3 big races I attended I would say 99% of them are to small to club race or chunked.

All my 1 or 2 run rubber tires from the big races have been used up or passed down to the club level (none wasted).

I'm with Rick on this one

I will be the first to admit foams are awesome to drive, but bad for racing.

PW, imo foams are useful right until the plastic rim starts showing through. Maybe not useful to great drivers, but there's a large group of drivers who can't tell the difference in lap times.

Unless you own Jaco or possibly one of the other good foam tire companies.

The Cactus was pretty good I qualified 9th in 4wd and 12th in 2wd. It had been almost 3 years since I had driven electric off-road and had forgotten how fun and interesting they are to drive. It looks like off-road electyri is making a bit of a comeback with so many new manufacturers involved.

It was also nice to see drivers racing in classes that represent their driving abilities rather than a bunch of factory drivers sandbagging in stock and 19T.

The foam tire sedan thing has been a problem for many. Since this was my first year racing on them, I had no idea what it was like in the past. But I have been told many times that foams used to be better and less complicated. Everyone used to use the same tires no matter what so it was as if there was a spec tire. I definitely think someone needs to regulate foam tires in some way because the complication will not only keep new drivers away, but can furstrate current racers and possibly send them to a different hobby.
