I didn't even bother matching them - ran a pack through my truck (they sent me 3 packs) and didn't even bother building the other 2...

From a matcher ... I have all of the latest cells from both GP and IB. From my figures the cells match up like this at 30 amps.
The IB3800 and the GP3700 have very similar voltages and Internal resistance but the GP3700 has about 30 secs less runtime (450 secs versus 480 secs on average)
The IB4200 and the GPO4300 cells have a similar voltage and ir but again the IB4200 has about 30 secs more runtime than the GP4300. (530 secs versus 500 secs)
The GP4300 seems to have similar runtime figures to the best of the IB3800 cells.

That doesn't seem so accurate... The 3700s definately don't have the same voltages as the 3800s....

IP3800 - 7.26/564/20r
My best GP3300s were 7.08/417/24r
I usually do it at 20a mainly for durability and that I will check batteries on a monthly basis. I am leery about some of the newer batts (like Int SC-3800) that seem to have cells deadshort at a moments notice.
The IP3800s seem to flatten out on repeaks. The EP4200s seem hold their own. RT does not really matter to me the voltage has been incredible with the 4200s but somewhat a snoozer with the 3800s on the track.
I still have some bench testing to do.

Any numbers on the IBs for comparison to those numbers? Just want to see how they match up, as I found the EPs to be much weaker...

The IB1200/IB1400s have more voltage and capacity than GP1100s. Email me if you want a few test cells that will prove this.

I currently have GP3700 cells with 1.2+ volts (30 amps) and IR of 1.6-1.9 !!!!. I think this compares with the IB cells.

Actually the IB3800s have 1.21+ voltage at 30 amps we offer 1.20+ at 35 amps plus the IB3800s have an extra 30 seconds of runtime over the GP3700s. The GP4300s are about the same in runtime as the IB3800s with the voltage being in the 1.19-1.20 range at 30 amps.

does anyone know which cells are more durable long-term? I'm more interested in getting packs that won't die after 10-20 heats on the carpet. If the IB's are better, do they hold up as well? I'm fairly pleased with the longetivity of the GP's.

The IB cells have been hoding up real well when treated properly. The newer GP cells have been redesigned to get the IR lower and voltage higher than the previous models so i'm pretty sure they will not react the same as the older GP cells. Only time will tell.

The true test with any of these cells is to test them at a set POWER (WATTS) level. That is the best way to see the actual performance of the cells.
We have been testing cells at 35 and 42 CONTINOUS WATTS.
Both of the IB cells (3800 and 4200) hold up much better than any other cell in the market.
The reason why this test is so important and significant is that you are pushing the cell to its maximum. Since the POWER (WATTS) is kept constant, as the voltage starts to decrease the current that the cell delivers has to go up in order to maintain the set power...
We have found that the discharge curves of all other cells do not compare to the IB's.
Both, VOLTAGE and CURRENT delivery capabilities of the IB cells are superior.
Transient response tests on the IB's also show a faster reacting cell. The IB can react FASTER to changes in current and that is KEY to a better cell.
In a car, the current is changing continously (around 18 to 35 Amps, with fast peaks at around 90A) and a battery that can react quickly to these changes will feel to the driver as a battery pack that has HIGH PUNCH. THis reaction is critical to a cell performance and the IB also outperforms EVERY cell in the market.
Overall, the IB cells are superior.

However, when treated and cycled the right way, IB3800 cells last a LONG TIME.
We have customers and team drivers that run on a weekly basis and start noticing a slight decrease in performance after MONTHS.
As long as the packs are not overdischarged and overheated, they will hold their performance past 35 complete cycles.
WE have seen packs hold up to 95% SOD after 45 cycles with the majority in the 85+% range.
There are many factors that affect the performance and longevity of a cell, and that starts with the ENHANCING (zapping) and matching process. If a battery is pushed during these processes, the longevity and QUALITY of the cell will be affected.
*SOD=State of Discharge
