Thanks for reading this thread.

I've just got back into 1/10th racing again after a 10 year break, as you can imagine technology has improved since my early days.

I've got myself a TC3 with Nosram Dominator Evolution ESC and went out and got myself some 1500uF Power Cap's but im unsure of where to solder them too.?
Also am i correct in saying that Power Caps are only for Forward/Brake ESC's ?

Also because i got the setup 2nd hand i have no manuals for the ESC, i've trwaled through google and the nosram site to no avail.

Could some kind soul please point me in the direction of a setup guide for this ESC or if someone could scan their manual id be happy to pay for a copy.!!

You can find a manual for your Nosram here, it is the same as the LRP QC2

The directions for the power cap are in the worlds kit installation manual. The cap is soldered onto the battery leads.

I would not, however, use the cap that you bought as it is not compatibale with LRP esc's. Different MOSFET's require different capaciters.

LRP ESC's require 4700 uf 10v capaciters.

That really shouldn't be true. Any capacitor that isn't going to break down (ie has a higher rated voltage than you are going to apply to it) should do fine. Lower capacitance won't hurt you, it just won't be as beneficial as the larger capacitor would be.

As a last resort, 3 1500uF caps in parallel will give you 4500uF, and since their ESR would be in parallel, it might actually perform a little better than a single 4500uF cap.

Many thanks to those who posted, I've now got my ESC setup for the damp conditions and its much more controlable.

Ive put 2 1500uF caps on the battery input and it does make a difference to responsiveness, allthough to save space im going to swap for 1 x 4700uF cap once ive got my carbon decks.
