Which is right where I fall! The tip i have heard for gearing is it should be reaching max rpm just before the end of the longest straight.

Rollout is a finer way of figuring your gear ratios. Off road guys just go by spur gear and pinion because their tires are all basically the same diameter. Onroad foam tires get trued to different diameters, so it figures the spur gear size, pinion size, and diameter of the tire for the true gear ratio. Someone else will have to give you the forumula as I don't know it.

I got two new tweaked CO's. Number 2 is 7.3 amp motor at 2.0 volts. Number one came out of the package pulling 8.5+ and is smooth as silk. Glad I bought it as a backup. The label was not as good as number two.

Rollout is good to get close with. But you'll have to go a gear either way to get it perfect.

Diameter = pie (3.14) times diameter.
Gear ratio is spur divided by pinion multiplied by internal ratio.

I tried one of these thsi weekend, decided to follow everyones advice and geared it 2 teeth higher than I would a normal monster at my local track (monster is usualy geared round 27 roulout so I geared 29) the car didnt have any punch and didnt rev out before the end of the straight I was 1 second off the pace.

Seccond qualifier I decided to go down to 27 rolout, the car reved out at the end ou the straight, straightline speed was almost on par with the fastest guys but I still had no punch on the infield.

I then put back in my trusty old epic and took a whole .7 seconds off the best lap that I could get from the co27.

I guess ill have to go test it at the track a few more times to see if I can figure what rolout to use, so far im not impressed. funny how the numbers looked realy great on my robi dyno (almost as good as my best monster).

i go 3-4 teeth more on pinion to get the best out of it (against monster/roars) 64 dp

SA .. I think you just need to work with it a little. Perhapes tune the motor if you haven't already, and then dial in your gearing. My first outing with it I kept over gearing because it kept coming off the track cool. Finally got a practice day in and once I got my gearing dialed the motor just rips.

Medium tight track, gearing @ 7.0 with 63mm (rubber) tires. My monster previous was @ 7.6. (in a sedan carpet rubber car)

I ran a friends in a couple of heats today to see how it went, dropped from 7.9 to 7.5 then 7.1, pulled all through the rev range, and came off cool like everyone says, easily as quick as a "worked on" monster out of the packet, little tweaking and it would be much faster but illegal for us UK guys.

Any word on the when the 19T version is going to be out? Komodo I think its called? If it is as big of a jump over the c2 as this is over the Monster it will be sweet.
