so then, would a ta-05 (out of the box setup) be faster than a tc4 team with the same electrics in both?

If you see how the Xenon Modified TA05s are going at the TITC race, they can and are very competitive, but not the best. 415MSX is still on top, but the TA05 isn't that far off it.
At that point and price why not just run the MSX or another car. The reason the TA05 is easy to drive or atleast feels that way is the soft chassis/flex masks some of your setup flaws.
The car is nice but I think ideally if they can make a TA05R for under $200 then it will be an awesome car.

one of the mag says the ta05 is easier to drive and more efficent due to its almost 50 50 power split...think of 4wd versus rear wheel drive car...however in actual life rear wheel drive dominates the track while 4wd wins in tricky conditions....will the ta05 beat the msx....WHY NOT?

the answer is because its not the flag ship car...if hara uses the ta05 and reinhard the msx....dun think there be too much diff........porsche cayman vs 911.....lambo gallardo vs mercielago...the first is definately better but de tuned as not to hurt the flagship image.in short....endless discussion

Both of the cars are 4wd, unless you don't include oneway, which still provide 4wd on power. In real race, rear wheel drive cars does seem to perform better on a onroad circuit. However, I can't recall any onraod races that allow 4wd and 2wd in U.S. I am not sure if most of the races that we seen here only allowed to run rwd or if 4wd is an option. European or Japanese touring cars may give the teams or manufactueres the option, but I am not sure.

Yeah i dont think its a case of 2wd being faster than 4wd. Just that most rules dont allow 4wd...
Also most on road race cars are in some way based on a road car which is usually 2wd.
Open wheel formulas are always 2wd aswell. If and F1 car was 4wd im sure it would be faster.
