I changed from all allu options back to plastic. The Bulk head cover is stayed allu.
I have tried it last Saturday and Sunday when it was hot. I was using old tiers.
The car was reacting very well.
Yesterday I drove in the wet and the car was still stable and forgiving.
Normally I’m al over the place in the rain.
This Sunday we have our second club race. It will be hard to get in the top 10 but I think it’s possible with this car.

I’m learning the car better and better. I found out that I can’t use my Xray setups on the car. But after some help and some setups from Jan van Steeg I managed to get a good setup.

The only thing that I must check now is my cars weight. It was in all allu hop ups 1460gr. Now I think it will be close to the 1400gr and that is the minimum.

Rather interesting reading... I used to run my scythe full plastic. It had no idea of the meaning of "loose" back then and was quick. But I decided to go the carpet flex chassis so the diffs are easier to get to. The car has lost some of its driveability for sure.. but you can remove the two screws on top of the motor bulkhead and it is just as good. The stiffer version has much more mid corner speed...

and since then I have added the hard arms to improve it further and run slightly lighter oil in the rear shocks to retain the driveability. Also I have removed the ackerman plate and run the bellcrank in the forward position to improve high speed steering and to provide more consistent balance from high to low speed turn in.

Do you run on carped or tarmac?
I run on tarmac.
I have the ackerman plate placed back so the car reacts faster.
I can send you my setup.
I had also placed my ackerman in the frond. also the steering servo i placed to the frond. I had it ful allu.
I didn't had anny problems with a loose back.
I had to manny grip in the back when i was running full plastic.
Now i changed my rolcenter at the back. I use the yellow springs from xray arround.

I want to buy a second car and also the carpet flex chassis.
Can i put an other topdek and chassis plate under it?
Because i want to use it for rubber indoor. else i keep it with the allu set that i already have.

I think that i buy an extra ackerman plate. There i wil dril an extra hole in so my ackerman comes more to the front on the plate.
Than i have more steer and a better reaction on the steering. (I hope)

Greetings Emiel

Mainly boral coat (imagine tar/sand mix like what steps have on them). Most decent tracks in NSW Australia use this paint over their exsisting surface to improve the grip. Its is similar to tarmac.

I recommend the carpet flex just for the ease of diff access. It is similar to full alloy version when you don't use the posts.

Don't worry bout ackerman plate, just use the forward hole on the deck for the bellcrank. Saves a bit of weight.
