Peak chargers

Basicly yes.
I don't believe the micro charger will handle the bigger capacity batteries of a 1/10 scale car. What kind of budget do you have?
For around $ 40-60 you can pick up a beginners peak detection charger. $80-100 gets you one with a little more adjustment and better ability to handle charging consecutive packs. $120-up get you Digital voltage displays, 5+ amp charging, and discharging, NiCd and MiMh capacity. You can spend $500 on a charger if you want to, but those are really more of a battery matcher/checker.

A peak charger is an auto-cutoff charger.
But an auto-cutoff charger is not necessarily a peak charger.
Let me explain;
When a peak charger reaches peak, it cuts off automatically.
But when, say, a timer charger runs its course, it also cuts off automatically.
In each case the 'auto cut-off' result is the same, but the 'trigger' action is much different.
Just something to keep in mind in case you find yourself reading the flashy packaging on a deeply budget charger.. just in case. Popsracer's advice is otherwise spot-on and quite helpful.
