I run Foam tyres all the time, generally outdoors we run a 30 or 35 shore front tyre and 25 or 30 shore rear tyres.

At National level I run a Yellow compound Frewer rear tyre which is super grippy and lasts about 1 to 2 races.

Josh, the grip at my circuit is a lot better when it's

A. Not wet.
B. The sun is out.

Believe me, when you were here it was pretty bad, the setup you drove then, is fantastic in Stock(Just started racing it for a laugh)

Yeah, Simon, I imagine it is...Since I was used to stock, where you use more throttle, and high grip carpet on which it is impossible to spin out, your track at it's worst was hard!

Does anybody make a clip-on motor heat sink that would work in the Yokomo? Right now I'm running a P2K, which doesn't get too hot, but when I run a MVP, it gets hotter than I like.

I have an original MR4-TC and I want to convert it into a special. My question is, what are some of the things I need to watch out for during the conversion. I have heard that the diffs don't line up when you use the stock belts. Is this true? And any other heads up on the conversion would be greatly appericiated.

I have run on carpet with foam tires for 5 years now, I also race in the Triple Crown series,
For Foams, greens will get you started, but to get the long life and great traction you want to go with purple compound all the way around, and maybe purple/orange in the front.
TRC and Jaco have these tires,
Yokomo now has their own mounted and trued foam tires out, I have already tried them, Very good!!

Good to see we are all making back to this site
Anyone put torque rods on their SP yet, I am going to try it today, try to eliminate some slop in the front.

If anyone is in the Washington D.C. area, I am the race director that is hosting the 7th Annual Charity Race, sposored by Hobby Works , on Sept 9th, go to www.HobbyWorks.com for more info

Cool

Cadzilla- Basically, to get the special to work, I you'll need to buy some new belts, either the pro or special version. The Pro ones last longer, but the special ones are smoother. You'll also need the front pulley, go for the hardened on, it'll last twice as long, but is only about 3 bucks more. For belts and the pulley, you could expect to spend no more than 20 bucks.

Hey adam, welcome! Yeah, call johnbull, let him know. Made it over to the outlaw's forum yet? Do you have a member list for that?
