daniz24: Glad to hear that!

stefan: When I said Barry is not such a big loss I said it from what I have seen of him. I have seen him at two big races, so I have seen a little at least. Maybe I just saw him at the wrong moments? But you can't deny that Barry has caused (negative) controversy more than one time. Some of the stories are surely just made up but no smoke without fire... When I said that about 'no big loss' I was mainly thinking of that bad publicity. And I agree, one should try not to judge people you don't know. Anyway, as I said in the original post, that was just my opinion. Glad that you are still calling me a friend though!

Is it true that B. Baker is going to drive for the Team AE-TC3? If it is so, I'm definitely going to start racing my TC3 again! It is going to be Team AE major gains with even stronger line-up of great racers in the U.S & U.K.

By the way, do you guys have any problem with the new Yokomo center one-way for SP, mine's worn out quite fast. Has the hardened type center one-way for Yok-SP available yet??

MIKA: I had to change it a month ago. Now I'm running a rear belt tensioner, as I found it is needed when running hot mods with good batteries. The hardened one way should be available, but I'm not sure if it's available everywhere. The part# is: ZS-671HSP

Geppetto: There will always be a next race where you can improve.

daniz24: Yep...a turnbuckle from the bulkhead to the upper deck like many of the factory drivers run. Have not really needed it until now. It can be a bit tricky to make cause you gotta make sure the ballstud is exactly in the middle of the bulkhead. Here are some pics of hw it looks:

Stefan - well said about Barry. I agree with you.

It interests me that people think the Yokomo SP hasn't done well. If you look at the results of the A-main at the last ROAR Race, Barry was 5th and Chris T was in 10th in the A. So there were 2 Yokomos, 3 TC3's, 4 Losi's, and 1 Tamiya in the A-main. Did you think that Losi and Associated weren't going to field competitive cars? But I don't see 8 out of 10 of any one car. Also consider the number of drivers for each team. Losi won that race and props out to them for it. But look at the wins over the last 2 to 3 years that Yokomo has tallied up. You know what they say. Competition only pushes you to go faster.

Default Dave K.

Dave, I was wondering if you run carpet with foams. I race in the Midwest Triple Crown series and that is all we run. I am interesting in finding a good carpet set up. Something with very minimal chassis roll. I ran the car for the first time this weekend. I had been running a TC3 for over a year. I ran:

Front
#3 pistons
80 weight
orange spring
sway bar
camber in stock middle position
shocks out on tower and out on arm
hinge pin in lower hole

Rear
#2 pistons
80 weight
sway bar
orange spring
camber in stock middle position
shocks out on tower and out on arm
hinge pin in upper hole

The car seemd to be way to planted. to much body roll. All it felt like I needed was stiffer springs. Do you recommend the GT4 springs? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I did go almost two laps faster. Car was not faster, but much smoother. Less bobbles.

RB Love,

I run mine on very high grip asphalt with foams.
I use the green GT4 springs, everything softer makes my chassis scrape in the corners.

Dave, actually at the ROAR nats, chris tossolini finished in second with the yokomo, barely behind pavidas. The yokomo, as I said, also won the stock race. Pretty good to me! I think the special was a great improvement over the pro/worlds. I think if I was yokomo, I would have put out the MR-4 Custom first, then released the special around the time of the XXX-S, that way they could get more developement time in, and take some of the spotlight from Losi. Still, I think they did a great job with the car.

Regarding Barry, I agree with kentech, no big loss. Sure, a year back he was doing great, but the past year, since the worlds he hasn't. Never seemed like a nice guy to me, but I never saw him...Maybe you met him when he was sober? j/k

Kentech- I didn't recieve that email. send it again to [email protected]

speedo- The special is awesome but I have to voice one opinion....at the Roar nats for the 2nd time in three years the out come was decided by a BS stop and go. The kid driving the Losi would have had the win if this years NFL replacement ref wasn't getting in some practice at the nats. Not taking anything away from Jay either. Just my and a few other's $0.02

Just something that has caught my attention,

I was having a fun old time with my stock motor and a 29t pinion and discovered that it doesn't need to be removed from the motor prior to taking the motor out. The hole in the SP motor mount is easily big enough to pass a 30t pinion through it while still attached to the motor. Just move it between the front belt.

Give it a try!
No need to remove battery posts or anything!

Daniz24,
I have run a turnbuckle between the top deck and rear gearbox for quite a while now. I find it tensions the front belt, not the rear. The area that flexes when the turnbuckle is adjusted is the gap directly behind the motor plate, between that and the rear gearbox. I can't see how this affects the rear belt, but you can see it loosen or tighten the front belt when the turnbuckle is adjusted.

Geppetto,
I was wondering if you found out what the winners and the fastest guys at your charity race were running for tires? I'm not trying to give you an "I told ya so", I'm just curious. I bet Dave is wondering the same thing. Also, if you know what inserts they were running too...
Sorry you didn't do better!.
Better luck next time. Laterz,

Sorry, Dave, i was thinking about the reedy race

STLNST- What are you talking about? I'm afraid I can't quite understand what you are saying, something about an NFL ref screwing up the Roar mains?

Simon, 29 tooth??? WHOA, yeah, I know about the hole thing. In fact, I took a dremel to my PRO motor mount (the thin one) to widen the hole and allow that to be possible.
