Lab Driver,

There is nothing wrong with the cars that you mentioned in your choice. If you like Yokomo, just get them. TC3 is one of the best cars in this market, and so is many other. This is just come down to your preference.

My Yokomo Special will be for sale soon. It has a ton of parts, including my custom made carbon fiber top deck.

Probably will be asking 150-175

Mort, send me an email and I'll send you my carpet setup...Have used it for coming up on3 years. I won expert stock last season and modified the year before that. As far as a foam tire set up, all I did is go from 80wt shock oil to 100. I used plaid o purple orange in the front and purple rears...

Default MR4 SP version 2

from my observations based on the photos at the yokomo japan website:

the SP version 2 does not seem to vary much from version 1 except it includes the ZS-007F kingpin ball joint and an extra body mounting post on the front shock tower. i think you'll also get the new shocks, but it's hard to tell. list price is 35000 yen. availability early dec.

there seems to be a special graphite conversion kit which includes the following silver graphite stuff:
1. front and rear shock towers
2. upper deck with an extra small piece to adjust flex
3. bumper brace
4. battery holder/brace
part no. ZS-SGC. list price stated as 8000 yen. availability mid dec.

the lower graphite chassis is available as a YMP product. part no. YMP-002SS. list price 7500 yen.

looks like they are finding it really hard to improve on the mr4 special, hence no new car but just some graphite stuff released to stiffen up. that's fine with me.

In the past, I have not seen any YMP parts available in the U.S. Would be nice, but don't think those parts are sold anywhere except in Japan and the Far East...

Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.

LAB DRIVER. You posted the same thing on the TC3 thread asking people to persuade you to buy a TC3. Now I see it here asking us to persuade you to buy a Special.

Well, like someone said before me, both the TC3 and the MR4, and the XXXS are all great cars. It's really down to your choice.

I personally run a Yoke special and love it. My son runs a TC3 and swears by it too. I suggest you get whatever car is most popular in your area. Two reasons: 1 parts availability, 2 info availability.

I see Wyd has made you a good offer. There's nothing wrong with a good second hand.

WYD. Are you going off Yokes or something? Speedo's gone and bought a TC3, a couple of other guys have gone and bought X Rays out of all things - poor lads, yet Yokomo just keep improving on what is already a sound and successful car. So I find no reason to change, especially when, despite my age, eye sight, reflexes, etc i can still race competitively with the Yoke.

It works out lots cheaper than starting from scratch again with a new car.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

Johnbull I have a few Yokes and I'm just cleaning out a little extra stuff. I have a bunch after 3 years of running them. I run a few different touring cars as well as the Yoke. I run some Tamiya stuff as well as our track has a big Tamiya following. Our TCS race has the biggest number of total entries for any Tamiya TCS race in the US. I think it was over 145 entries.

WYD.

We tried a Tamiya series here but it never got off the ground, despite the fact that more Tamiyas are sold than all the rest put together - which is probably the case the World over.

Check out www.brca.org for a report of our last meeting and pic of Josh and myself.

Regards

Joe from....not so sunny Malta.

Default Considering buying Yokomo MR-4 TC Custom

How long are Yokomo springs? The same as HPI? And what about the spurs, do HPI spurs fit on a Yokomo?

Thanks.

Cole Trickle. Greetings from Malta.

Springs, Spurs, wheels etc are universal on most modern cars.

HPI and Yoke are no exception.

I run a Yoke Special myself though I sell virtually everything in my shop. I've run it for 3 years and love it.

Good luck.

Joe from sunny Malta.

Default Foam Tire Setup

I have just posted on my web site (www.mo-net.ws) my setup for the special with foam tires on carpet. It worked very well last night.
