Tim,
The Spitfires dominate here(They are pretty much all thats available). I normally run Auroras in modified as the PEAK importer is a friend of the Family.

I'll be trying a Spitfire when I start racing stock, it's just for a bit of fun and there have only been one or two mod cars showing up so I can't be bothered running my 3000s and 9 turn.

Well, I didn't get around to trying nearly as much as I wanted tonight. For starters, my CycloneTC decided to stop working. Naturally, I didn't bring my 1/12 along, and my other Cyclone is in it! So, I was luckily able to borrow a Cyclone from a guy, so I could race. Between trying to figure out why mine wouldn't work, and installing the replacement, my first time on the track was the first Heat. I improved a little bit each run, but am still pretty slow. For the 3rd heat, and my main, I ran a MVP (was running a P2k) with full face 767's. It seemed to help a little bit. The only real chassis changes I made, were taking off the rear sway-bar, and going from Sorex 20's in rear, to 24's, back to 20's for the main. I timed into the B-main, and finished 6th I think...

I'm going tomorrow for practice. Talked to one of the owners, and he'll let me run a transponder. Hopefully I'll be able to find some speed.

JeffC, my SP ran pretty good for first night out. Here's a little secret, dump the Sorex, and get some Yok tires. 139G with firm insert on front, med in rear. That's what I ran all night, and with minor tweaks to the car, it got better and better. I ended up with Yellow springs up front, green in rear, with kit sway bars. Using the top mount sway bar on the front.

Well, I think I'll have to try some Yok tires tomorrow. Your car really looked good out there. I'm not running any swaybars right now, orange springs in front, green in rear. I hadn't seen the top mount bar until tonight. Looks like it would work better. Maybe they'll have it at Hobby Warehouse? Worth checking. Thanks man. Hopefully I'll get back into the A-main before the track gets changed again... or at least the front of the B.

JeffC, I don't think the top mount sway bar is available seperate, it came with the SP kit. Are you running the SP chassis? or the Worlds chassis? When I ran the worlds, I only used the rear sway bar, and orange springs all around with 60wt oil. With SP, down to 50wt oil. Seems like with the SP, you want to go soft on springs, then use thick sway bars to limit body roll.

I've got a Pro converted to Special. I've got the chassis, motor mount, battery brace, etc... but don't have the new suspension parts.

Hi guys, and greetings from Malta.

Yes.....I'm back!!!! Tough luck!

I only got to know about the change through word of mouth. Are all the old guys here.

Darkside - what would we do if we couldn't argue F1. Oh by the way Congrats on Schuie's No 4. Last year he won without the best car. This year, with the best car he just ran away.

I've been playing with weight distribution on the special. I put my 10 grams of lead up front, held in place with the front bumper screw, and turned the servo through 90 degrees so that it moves further forward. The improvement in steering is impressive.

The championship out here starts on the 30th September and the track is always busy with guys practicing already. Should be a great year. Shame we are heavily outnumbered with Yokes. TC3s outnumber us three to one.

Motorcycle GP this weekend. Should be good.

Regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

Yokomo Penguin Chassis

Guys,

Does anybody have any hands-on experience with the Penguin graphite chassis conversion set for the MR-4TC?

I have a base MR-4 that I have since upgraded with the new SP conversion kit and I am still tinkering with it. I'm running full time 4WD as I don't have a front one-way.

I've just done a deal and will soon have a converted MR-4 Pro with the Penguin chassis set and I'm looking for any feedback on that setup. Looking to hear both good and bad.

Steve

Hey johnbull! I don't think Darkside has found this place yet, can anyone remember his email?

I think MDawson has a penguin chassis, you might wanna ask him.
