I was just googling stuff up earlier, and found this to be a decent basic guide, not too long, nicely to the point and easy to understand:

The Hudy Off Road Setup Book is pretty much the bible of off road tuning. Applies to all scales of off road really.

I used to think that the Hudy manual was the best, but have grown to appreciate the Tekno Setup Guide better because they go into more detail explaining how each feature works where the Hudy guide makes more assumptions:

I still use the Hudy quick reference though, this one is the best I've seen:

there are some things in the tekno guide that appear to contradict other guides and from what I have heard may be incorrect. You may want to cross reference them.
For something that is quick reference, I am really liking the xray xb2 setup helper guide. its 2 pages and packed full of info.

At home I tend to use the Xray guide.

I basically carry 4 guides in a binder with me including part of the xray onroad guide for a few specific things that apply well when running on carpet offroad to help me understand things better. I plan to when the season is over prior to indoors to do some spring cleaning there.

To that point, Tekno explains where a tuning option works on more specific applications where some guides don't fully explain each respective trade off.

100% agree - that guide is the best one I've found if you don't need to hassle with 4WD-specific tuning.
