I agree. We had a roll off years ago with quite a few 4wd cars and my k1 was by far the least drag

I think they are really nice if for only one reason. You will be able to change shock positions on the tower much faster. Before you had to pull the retaining nut, remove the plastic spacer washer and mount, then you had to remove the post. Now you just move the ball stud. Easy.

I am assuming the caps are molded so if things get loose after awhile just replace them as a consumable. Before you could only get the plastic mount pieces in U3937, which had things you didn't even need (spring retainers) so the price should be roughly equivalent.

Yeah, that was me. I guess I'm still just attached to the vented aluminum caps. The little works of art that they are.

What's the durability like for the Schumacher cars compared to the current generation of cars?

plastic durability is similar to rest. Drivetrain quality is much better than most. I've never had any durability issues

According to the manuals, the conversion kits are as follows:

U7137 Cougar KC to KD Conversion Kit - Cougar KC

U7138 Cougar KD to KC Conversion Kit - Cougar KD

This makes it all the more interesting. On clay in the US lots of people prefer one or the other so having the option is critical.

Does any one believe the KC would work well on lower to medium bite clay and or treated hard packed dirt? Only inquiring as I really like belt driven cars.

Out of the box the KD only comes with one motor option. The chassis is drilled to accept the other four motor options. You will need to buy the U7138 Cougar KD to KC Conversion Kit plus the desired belts and top plates to get the motor option that you are looking for.
