Bob B 8/10/17 - Should I start with the kit setup?
The kit setup is a great place to start. One other option that many of us start with is Joe's rough track setup. You can find that setup here
In order to run it you need 3x2.1 pistons and 3x2.0 pistons. (They are marked on the sheet as 3.1 and 3.0).

Matt W 7/7/17 - What is overdrive and when should I use it?
The NB48.4 comes stock with a 12t pinion (TKR8152) and the 39t ring (TKR8151) in both the front and rear and the EB48.4 has a 12t pinion (TKR8152B) and the 40t ring (TKR8151B) in both the front and rear.

The two sets of gears are used to overdrive the front of the EBs or underdrive the rear of the NBs. If you have both vehicles and want to try underdrive it's as easy as swapping the front diff and pinion of the EB and the rear diff and pinion of the NB. Underdrive helps on very loose tracks, when you need more on power steering or if the rear of the car feels loose.

Tips and Tricks
Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Warranty Policy:

Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:

Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

I had to ream all of the arms to free them up.

thanks for the info!

with it sounding like this change plants the rear better, wonder if a future SCT410 will get that change too.

By far the easiest build I have had in a while. Except those micro sized o-rings on the bleeder screws........other than that, all parts fit very well. I didn't have to ream out the a-arms for the hinge pins like rcgod above had to do.

Cut 1 cm of "tooth picker" sharp side connect to screw, then slide micro o-rings in place.

So obviously you guys are just getting your kits up and running the past few weeks but any feedback on driving ease compared to the .3 out of the box? I'd like to upgrade to one brand for 1/8th scale E-Buggy/E-Truggy and heard the Tekno Truggy was amazing from local guys at the local track but nearly all of them didn't like the 48.3 and said the rear end just never could get planted and hooked up.

From the guys running the new .4 have you found this to be corrected?

Making it more planted and easy to drive was the primary reason for the .4 changes on the buggy.

Ran mine for the first time today and the rear end is definitely planted. Easy to drive and the rear never stepped out once. Very happy with the changes tekno made.

Default EB48.4 or HB E817 ??? and when E-Truggy ET48.4???

Hi guys, I'm new here and I want to ask you opinion, in my country there are not many drivers with Tekno car and for my area there is nobody, and I have doubts ...

I will renew my 1 / 8th cars (buggy and truggy) Before I had truggy mbx7T eco and buggy mbx7 eco, the truggy I already sold it and the buggy I will sell it when I buy the new electric kit ....

I would like to know if Tekno is going to take out the new electric Truggy, which would be the ET48.4, in case they know of some rumors or news ...

And as I say where I live nobody has Tekno, but if they have Hot Bodies E817. I do not know if I renew my E-Buggy with a Tekno EB48.4 or with an HB E817 ...

Someone helps me decide. Thank you.

The universals do not interchange, so I assume the cvds won't either. I think the lengths are different.

Uni's and CVD's are all new, not interchangeable.
