Welcome to the EB4.4 Wiki page.

Bob B 8/10/17 - Should I start with the kit setup?
The kit setup is a great place to start. One other option that many of us start with is Joe's rough track setup. You can find that setup here
In order to run it you need 3x2.1 pistons and 3x2.0 pistons. (They are marked on the sheet as 3.1 and 3.0).

Matt W 7/7/17 - What is overdrive and when should I use it?
The NB48.4 comes stock with a 12t pinion (TKR8152) and the 39t ring (TKR8151) in both the front and rear and the EB48.4 has a 12t pinion (TKR8152B) and the 40t ring (TKR8151B) in both the front and rear.

The two sets of gears are used to overdrive the front of the EBs or underdrive the rear of the NBs. If you have both vehicles and want to try underdrive it's as easy as swapping the front diff and pinion of the EB and the rear diff and pinion of the NB. Underdrive helps on very loose tracks, when you need more on power steering or if the rear of the car feels loose.

Tips and Tricks
Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Warranty Policy:

Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:

Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Do you know anyone that runs the pro amps? If so, how do they like them? I didn't find many reviews of them. Anyone know how they compare to MKS OR Highest? Thanks

I actually know of a few. The middle one is currently in a couple truggies in florida, and a couple buggies in Texas. Everyone I know that has them is happy with them. They are new to the US market, but well respected. The 2 year warranty is a big deal IMHO. They have faith. Talked to some guys I know in Australia, and a few of them run them with good results, and have for a while.

I haven't grabbed one yet, but I will before outdoor season to have a solid backup.

Thanks for the response. I feel like choosing a servo is the most difficult part about a build. There are so many of them to choose from.

Anyone replace the turnbuckles, specifically the rear, with something easier to adjust?

Hi,

Can I ask you dimensional measurements, in millimeter, for A, B, C and D ?
( each time from the center of each pivot point )

Thanks,
Bye !

This works nicely. I also throw a little bit of black grease on them. I believe there is a youtube video of this that can be reached from the Tekno website.

^ that.

I ran the .4 for the first time this weekend and it is super smooth and stable. I made a few changes including going softer for the front spring. I felt I could push it harder without it getting out of control. The steering is much smoother and not as "twitchy" based on some people's thoughts of the older models.

salut, j'ai le 48.3 et voilà ce que j'ai mesuré :
A= 32mm la nouvelle barre ackermann du 48.4 est rallongée de 6mm. je suppose que c'est donc 6mm en + entre axes. donc probablement 38mm
B=32mm
C=32mm
D=19mm

Hi werner sline,

Thank you for your answer.
Infortunately, the chassis plate is new on the EB48.4. How can we be sure that the bell cranks are at the same positions ( C=32 mm ) ?
It appears that all the bell cranks are new, so maybe it's not the same dimensions for B and D too ?
I can't find any info about the +6mm on the ackerman plate, I just know that the turnbuckles need to be shortened by 3mm on each side.
This doesn't automaticaly mean that the ackerman plate is 6mm longer for A, but you are maybe right.
I'm sorry, but because all the parts are new, I will ask to EB48.4 owners, to confirm...
Thanks,
Bye !

Will any updated parts fit my eb48.3, especially the updated rear arms and hinge pin braces?

I skimmed all posts but did not see an answer.

Thanks

FYI you will only get the ecash if it comes in stock before the 11. Still a great deal though.
