Bob B 8/10/17 - Should I start with the kit setup?
The kit setup is a great place to start. One other option that many of us start with is Joe's rough track setup. You can find that setup here
In order to run it you need 3x2.1 pistons and 3x2.0 pistons. (They are marked on the sheet as 3.1 and 3.0).

Matt W 7/7/17 - What is overdrive and when should I use it?
The NB48.4 comes stock with a 12t pinion (TKR8152) and the 39t ring (TKR8151) in both the front and rear and the EB48.4 has a 12t pinion (TKR8152B) and the 40t ring (TKR8151B) in both the front and rear.

The two sets of gears are used to overdrive the front of the EBs or underdrive the rear of the NBs. If you have both vehicles and want to try underdrive it's as easy as swapping the front diff and pinion of the EB and the rear diff and pinion of the NB. Underdrive helps on very loose tracks, when you need more on power steering or if the rear of the car feels loose.

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Warranty Policy:

Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:

Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

OK I will do this. Am I crazy for thinking if you really tighten down the ring gear to the diff housing you could move it ever so slightly closer to the pinion and make a tight mesh? Did you also use both shims on non gear side?

To be clear in no way am I complaining about this kit. The quality is truly amazing.

For the front the best I can get is again both shims on non gear side but with a little bind in one spot and I cannot get it to go away. Made sure screws were not overly tight on the diff as I thought maybe that could cause a bind. Never had a problem on eb48.2 as I did plenty of diff rebuilds and I think I know what I'm doing. I'm no expert however. Any ideas? Any one else have a mesh problem?
I noted that my ring/pinion did not "sound" right until i had mounted them to the chassis and tightened all hexes (There was no side play and i did not have to use any shims as mentioned previously) Before i mounted them to the chassis, when i turned the outdrive cups to test mesh i heard a high pitched hum. Once i mounted it to the chassis the hum was gone and turning is very smooth as it should be. I didn't have this with the .3 build.

New paint. And I have to share the story behind the inspiration for this paint job. I stared at this ugly monstrosity of a body for over 2 hours with absolutely nothing good to say about it. 100% creative block. I hated it with a passion and even considered painting it all one solid color. Then a thought popped into my head. "Man this thing looks like a flaming piece of s#!t." DING DING DING!!!! I know! I'll make it look like an airplane that is crashing and on fire! And make the paint look like its burning off. And after I finished painting it, I thought "I cant wait to crash this thing." I think if I ruin this body the next one will be painted like the TIV Tornado Intercept Vehicle. Paint some flying cows on it.

Hey so ummm, how about you paint my flaming piece of shyte? lol I outsourced a Jconcepts paint job but I still have the stock body sitting in my room unpainted. That paint job looks sick though. I've always been a bit of an airplane fanatic so its pretty cool to see that concept brought to RC racing

Yeah it turned out pretty good considering how I felt when I started. You can take that unpainted body. Put a Wonder Woman figure in the cockpit and say its the invisible jet.

lol that would be pretty hilarious to see Wonder Woman flying over a triple in a buggy. I think I might just try a metallic purple and use it as a practice shell so I don't wreck my good one so quick.

I found the shock bleeder o-rings, if anyone else like me destroys the ones that come with the new buggy, McMaster Carr part # 9262K108 its like $4.00 for 50 of them, and as strange as it sounds they were much easier to install than the ones in the box maybe a higher grade of rubber or just more elasticity.
