Brushless Motor for 2wd slash

Brushless Motor for 2wd slash
I'm looking at purchasing a motor for my nephews slash. He just bashes in the street with an occasional trip to the track, so a fun, cheap, fast motor is all he needs. His speedo can handle up to a 4000 kw motor on 2s. I'm looking at this motor and was wondering your input on the purchase or if there is anything better out there:

Also, I'm not familiar with 4 pole and 2 pole motors so any information on them is helpful. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dennis. What speedo is he running, exactly? Does it support sensored motors? 4-pole motors generally develop much more torque than 2-pole. But many ESC's are not designed to handle the current demands of a 4-pole motor. For bashing, a sensored system isn't a necessity.

THIS ^ you will be his favorite uncle this Christmas
Im running 2 of these systems.. in my SC10 and Pro-Line Mt.. Smooth tons of torque. if you decide to go this route use a coupon code the system will cost you around $90

I'd prefer to just buy a motor as I already have a speedo.

I run this motor in my 2wd Slash geared 86/23 with a hobbywing 80a esc. Great motor and is plenty fast.

Tacon motors are cheap. I've had a couple, they were plenty fast.
Hobbyking has some inexpensive options as well.
