Just received my slipper. For anyone who cares:

Slipper w/78 spur and bones = 48 grams

Center diff w78 spur, bones, metal gears, and 500k fluid = 59 grams

I didn't think they'd be that close in weight.

Love the slipper for med to med-high bite clay at my local track. Running a 6.0 and I may take the plastic gears out of atleast the rear diff since the car has a lot more snap out of the corner and its probably putting them to the test.

Also anyone try running a little lighter fluid in the front diff than the rear?

B64D 429 + slipper 59 + bones 12 = 500. Spare parts less expensive, but will break five times as many as the Xray

Xray = 489. Spare parts more expensive but will break almost none.

???

Question,

Why pay more for less, when you can pay less for more.

Are you posts specific to the B64 or the B64D?

I ask because it looks like you should have posted in the http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...4wd-buggy.html

Honestly dont see how people are breaking parts. Saturday I had a practice day with mine. I let my buddy (who is a true sportsman driver) drive my B64D. He hit just about everything on the track. Zero broken parts. Tore the car down this week to inspect the diffs, etc. The B64D is a solid car.

I broke an arm and a steering rack...Arm, totally.my fault...Steering rack, I think is just a weak part, that will be addressed in the aftermarket.

If you do hit something hard enough, you will obviously break something lol. But for the most part, its a durable car. Out of the box, you really dont have any parts that are "Must Haves" to make it a great car.

My local track is very high bite clay w/dirt glue. From stock setup, I went to 500K Center Diff Oil, Red front spring, No Front Sway Bar, and Short Center Front Camberlink. It was smooth and easy to drive hard. Very stable. A few more things to try still, but its very good.

On its face, 11g doesn't sound like much, but it is a ~20% difference, especially since the weight of the bones don't really figure in. They have such a low polar moment that the weight difference would have to be VERY large for them to have a noticeable effect.
