I've got some ideas floating around in my head to try and fix it, but i'd say, night and day difference over the previous car, but still not as good as TLR or Kyosho. Turning is fine and on par with other cars, and all around as stable as the other platforms. The big factor for me was the beefing up of the car, the B44.3 was not a bad drive, it was just weak, this has all of the characteristics that made the B44.3 such a fast wheeler out of the box, but much more robust.
I disagree. My the only part I ever broke on my B44.1 was the plastic gears in the trans, which I could have fixed by running the gear diffs with the steel gears. I had RPM arms the day I bought it so no breakage there. The car was okay. Barely, but okay.

The B64d is hands down better than the 44. No comparison. The TLR is not for everyone, you have to be super smooth to get the most out of the 22-4, the new one not as much as the older one, but still, you cant drive that car like you can a D413. The Kyosho is okay, my friend had one and HATED it, thing broke arms just landing jumps, and those arms aren't cheap. He just struggled with it. And just like going form the Kyosho 2WD to the B6 he is just as happy going from the 4WD to the B64D.

The B64D lands beautifully. No chassis slapping, whether you put it down flat or uneven. We have a huge double with a tabletop after it, mod cars can clear the whole thing, 13.5 can not, I was landing the car flat on the tabletop and the car was totally driveable going into the 180 directly afterwards. The B44 would slap so hard that it would end up on its roof.

Appreciate the info. I might try a few of these tweaks too and report back.

Yes, you have to machine out the inside of the 10mm hex to fit over the axle of the B64d. The B44 is standard the B64D is metric. I think its 5mm iirc.

Hey Gents, just bought this car just a month or two after a Losi 22-4 2.0 I am looking forward to driving both over the next couple of weeks and keeping whichever suits my driving style. That said, is there any trick to installing the FWD Center Dogbone? It mentions installing it after the front shocktower and diff are installed, however during the gearbox build the instructions mentioned installing the retaining clip for the front gearbox which is preventing me from seating the FWD Center Dogbone....any ideas, or is it supposed to rest against that clip and not go all the way in?

Regards,
Mike

You have to insert it on an angle past the clip and then insert the other side. It will sit behind the clip.

I picked mine up Friday at my lhs Hot Rod Hobbies. they sold all but one the same day. I have been racing a wheeler since the original B44 then the .1 then the .2 and finally the .3 and each one has improved in quality. I unboxed my B64d today ,Saturday, and will build it Sunday. Hopefully in one day or two and have it race ready for our Tuesday night Nationals. To me it looks much nicer than any of my previous wheelers.....I hope so.

Building diffs now, wondering if i should use 7k 5k front and rear rather than factory 10k in both. Coming from an 1/8 buggy years ago we would run a bit more in the front diff than the rear. Anyone run with the factory diff oil settings yet? Thoughts?

Thanks
