A great video was just posted by Team Associated on their FB page, covering the evolution of AE, the RC10, BJ4, B44, the industry, all leading up to the long awaited B64D.

Unfortunately I couldn't figure out a way to externally link to it, and don't see it on youtube yet. It's well worth the watch though, I enjoyed it.

If only i wasn't so invested in the B44.3 I have, I'd be preordering too!

The parts are interchangeable of course. Tuning options, just like the B6.

So if they're making two versions of this like the B6/D.... when will the "carpet" version be up for order and what exactly is the difference between the two from what we know at this point?

It all comes down to box art.

the carpet has a slipper and comes with the option parts better suited for carpet racing. AE could have made one car and the consumer could buy the additional parts to suit their needs. Having two cars puts less money in AE's pocket and saves the consumer money. I am really impressed how AE has been all about the racer! Great job AE

This is the part i want to know about, what option parts are better suited for carpet other than the slipper. I know stiffer springs but most of us have that covered.

I switch between both surfaces now on my XB4 and really the only changes are springs, ride height and roll center. It was the same when I had a 44.3.

Same here. And what parts could they be tinkering with that makes it necessary to release the carpet version later in the year? Can't just be a slipper and springs, seems if those were the only differences, then the carpet version would be ready for release too.

I'm just going to buy the dirt version and change to the CA parts when available.

I would guess the carpet in addition to the slipper comes with different c and d mounts, sway bars, different diff oil, chassis braces, maybe different angle hubs.

Not true for guys like me, LOL, I will buy both. Clean car for Carpet and Dirty Car for Dirt Racing. I don't spend too much time cleaning up the cars in dirt racing between every race week.

My xb4 uses harder plastics for less flex.

The slipper for carpet/turf

anti roll bars. shortter springs for a lower ride height.

possible for carbon towers

Most people are lucky to have one track. If we had both tracks I would have both cars too.
