Are you sure?
The b6 and b64 kits both come with 15.5 plastic part 9180.
The new ae 15.5 clamping horn says it's for both b6 and b64:

I ran the 18.5 on my b64 when I first built it and didn't like the steering (not enough on carpet). Went to a 15.5 and was much better.

Either horn can be used as you have noticed. The difference is the steering feel. It's a tuning option.

It's the popular combo.

So, just got my kit today. No wheels in the box and B64 wheels backordered until who knows when? If there are no wheels in the kits and no wheels to buy then where the heck did all the wheels go? Lol

so for the 15.5 horn that was originally used with the B6, what is different about it other than the clamping than the current horns?

If you are referring to the link I posted above - yes just the clamping feature. Some servos need it (spektrum) others (savox) not as much.

The 18.5 mm clamping horn is 3 mm thick where the ball stud attaches. The b6 non clamping 15.5 mm horn is 6.5 mm thick where the ball stud attaches. I would say judging by the picture of the new clamping 15.5 that it is also 6.5 thick at top.

Yokomo wheels are identical. Looks like they use the same mould.

Trying the non clamping to the clamping horn on the B64 I didn't notice a difference with the 15.5. The 18.5 smoothed out the steering feel. Running 13.5 I like the 15.5 because it makes the steering more "twitchy." Ita a tuning thing and I would recommend you get both and see what feels better to you. I like a car with a lot of steering. But it's personal preference.

Just finished my 64, going to be running it on astro with a 13.5. Car doesn't feel completely free in the drivetrain yet, played with the diffs and got them as smooth as I could, hoping running it will free it up a bit. No issues with my build other than getting a few countersunk screws where I needed button head. No big deal though. Look forward to running it tomorrow.
