I need to find a easy way to remove a tire from a wheel but not destroy the wheel or tire to remove a foam. I've heard of using a exacto knife and cut a little of the tire of to remove the tire but I don't think I am capable of doing that. I have a worn out set of tires that I may try to cut of the wheel for practice, that way if I destroy the tire it's no big deal.
I am guessing acetone is not the best way as it may destroy the tire or the fumes may hurt the foam

You can do it. Cut the inside of the tire as close to the rim as you can. Pull the tire inside out towards toe outside of the rim & swap the foam, then pull the tire back over the new foam. Glue it back carefully and use as little glue as you can. It's OK if it's not perfect.

If your changing foam yes, cutting the inner bead with and exacto knife is going
to be the easiest way. Takes a sharp blade and a strong thumb. The trick is to
keep constant outward pressure with the thumb while you cut. Practice on some
old tires and you will get the hang of it pretty quick.

Acatone will eat certain clay compounds.
Boiling water and heat will ruin closed cell inserts.

Any tips on breaking in harder foams such as AKA blacks? I do like the proline foams from about 3-10 packs then most get too soft. Thx

As mentioned above, acetone will make clay compound tires useless, but does not damage Proline M2/M3/M4, AKA Soft/Supersoft, JConcepts Green, or Losi Silver/red. Those are the compounds I removed from wheels with acetone. I've not seen damage to any closed cell foam made my Proline. AKA, or JConcepts from the vapors, though the liners are softer when exposed to vapors than when they dry out (though "dry" out is not really the correct word since they aren't "wet").

Default Aka black foams

Hard as a rock with slicks. Poked 2 small holes in between each rib. 5 packs in still hard and push more than any tire/foam. Running them with Primes. Anyone know break in time?

Anybody tried the RawSpeed slicks yet? I have used their foams in Primes before and they lasted longer than the Proline foam.

I hate buying Primes and throwing away the foams.

I prefer holes in the wheels for 1/10, and for slicks especially. Most advocates for holes in the tire do so to let dirt/debris escape from inside the tire. However, for slick tracks typically that isn't an issue.

For 1/8 scale I typically punch my holes between treads, and because of that punching a slick tire just seems counter-intuitive to me (hole is on contact with the track, which would seem to collect more dust).
