Who runs their 2wd buddy under weight for regular club racing?

I used to before we started checking weight before racing. To be fair I didn't realize my buggy was underweight at the time.

We run on a outdoor "Real Offroad" track so i add weight lol

It would actually be a detriment to yourself to practice underweight. You will get a false sense of your speed and when the rules hit and the weight goes in you will be scrambling to make up that "lost time". Race day isn't the day to be searching for it.
My B5M is currently sitting at 1600.

Mason next episode I'm in the House I want a weight of my FL mB5. I won't be buying a '17 till my differential balls are crunchy.
I guess I can figure it out knowing lipo, motor, and esc weights.

Watched a video with jrouna talking to the kid who won the stock nats. He never runs his car under 1530. Does running an underweight car really yield faster lap time?
FYI, my b6 is weighing in at 1550gram need to cut a few grams!

Our track never enforces weight rules and I won't run ROAR races so I run mine a little light, but only by a few grams. Way too light is just as bad as too heavy IMHO.

Had a 22 3.0 at 1490m car felt like it was only skidding along on top of the clay, got it to 1540, was the golden weight for that car. My YZ-2 was undrivable underweight, put on a thick chassis protector to get it to 1530, car was hooked. This is on high bite clay running slicks.

New IFMAR rules say 1474g, http://www.liverc.com/news/announcem...s_regulations/
page 15 rule 4.3.3, maybe ROAR will match their weight if the rules get updated this year

Not really, nexus, I don't want to start an argument, but if a track doesn't care about such rules, then there is NO such thing as cheating(& yes, I have raced at tracks that didn't enforce ANY rules, got kind of ridiculous a few times). But I do agree that when there are set rules, then there's no point in breaking them, especially when an event comes along. I think of it like what coaches in several sports do about practicing & playing, the phrase is: "You practice like you play & you play like you practice." If you practice bad habits, then you'll most likely play that way. Same can go for our hobby, as one of the others said, if you get used to running underweight, then get to an event that enforces weight rules, you'll be at a disadvantage because you had not been running at the proper weight, & your car will not behave the way you'd expect(which can have an affect on your races)....

I think his point was that if there are rules, though they don't tech the cars, it's still cheating. That's what we have at our track: the owner states ROAR rules, but we don't check.
The first time I entered a stock buggy class this summer using my son's 22 3.0---kit setup, no lightened parts, HW sock spec ESC and 17.5 motor---I came in only 5 g over min weight! I just assumed that I would be significantly over without intentionally lightening it.
Meanwhile, I just added a 25 g eight under the battery in my laydown 22 3.0 and Exotek 22sct... both for carpet! I wanted to test the effects of adding weight to lower center of gravity and see if it helps the car settle and become less edgy.

We need a like button, so I can like this about four or five hundred times. I build my race vehicles to ROAR specs. We are not a ROAR track. I do this because I feel it's good to have a general specification outlining how a race car is set up, toy or otherwise. Besides, races where the leader is three laps up, second is two laps ahead of third are boring not only to watch, but to drive in. Close racing is fun and thats what we're here for right?
