Aluminum bends, and can take out other parts with it like the bulkheads, or a arm carriers, hinge pins. The rpm parts are so great for bashing because they have just enough flex in them to absorb impacts without breaking themselves or the parts they're connected to. Plus aluminum parts are expensive, and heavy. RPM parts I believe have a lifetime warranty also. Not sure but someone else will probably say if I'm right or wrong.

If all you're doing is bashing than I'd keep the stock rtr towers. They are kind of rubbery and will bend alot without snapping. Get aluminum ones and they will probably bend sooner or later. You can bend em back a couple times but they'd probably snap sooner than later. Other than that a fiberglass tower would be good, and cheap. Cheap is good, especially if you have to replace it now and then.

I am doing the same thing. I own a FT RC10GT and I am getting the

-new era .21 mount
-masher 2000's
-aluminum wheels
-ported and polished mach .26
-RPM overload

You could save some serious cash on the motor mount and engine by going with an os .18
It would be drop in, be just as uncontrollable, and just a bit easier on the tranny...

I personally wouldn't get the Masher 2000s. Traction with them wasn't as good as the IMEX J-Dawgs (G-Dawgs?) that I had on my T4. You may also want to look into the swamp style treaded IMEX. Only thing with Imex is that from what I remember the foams need to be glued. I just used Losi truck foams instead.
