Are you flat landing jumps? If you are down siding jumps there should be no issue. Otherwise the bounce is coming from the foams inside of the rear tires. Springs will help but are not the cure. Updating to the 18 specs shock guides and seals will help, but there is no 100% fix.

What gearing are you running with the 8.5 motor?

Wanted to freshen up my 2018 XT2 ball diff for indoor clay track. Any recommendation of what brand balls to use or what type? I also heard of guys using Associated spring for ball diff is that still the case for the 2018?

Thanks

Until they update the drive shafts to longer and use the 2.5 pin so you can run the newer diff, yes run the AE spring, and I also ended up putting a light amount of CA onto the diff ring to keep it from slipping on the out drive. It's too smooth and the ring slides on it. Just a really bad design, that's been fixed, just not carried over yet.

Thanks in advance,

I ran a cheapo protek 20mm non-offset horn when I first got mine, and it was fine.

I have 2 brand new stock (regular weight) bodies still in the package unopened if you need one. I am having my painter do two lightweight bodies so these are unneeded.

They are probably waiting for the updated version. At EOS Rd 1 at the Nürburgring, Juraj Hudy was spotted using a body for both rear shock mounting positions.

Forgive me I have searched and I can't find anything about forward mounting the rear shocks. Has anyone tried it? How does it handle on carpet? What do you do to get the shocks mounted in the right position with enough clearance and keep the rear body post in the same location ?
Thanks Mark

IIRC you swap the positions of the shock tower and the spacer, turn around the rear arms, and you are ready to go. I haven't done it myself because I sold my truck a while ago, but I wrenched on one or two converted trucks at the German nationals and the last EOS. After the conversion, the truck is more responsive and controllable due to having less weight at the far rear end - just as I suggested to an Xray representative when the kit was originally released.
