What do you do when ... HPI Rock Crawler
What do you do when you get your hands on a never before released production sample vehicle from a name brand Hobby Manufacturer?
I recently added the HPI Racing / Hot Bodies Rock Crawler that debuted at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2010 to my collection. Most my rigs are display with use but I have a dilemma ... What do you do with possibly a one of one model that has historical significance and yet still good potential use? I am wondering if the best place for it is in my collection as a new unused show piece that will eventually get some run time or in the hands of a collector who will keep it in pristine form?
I have listed iit on E-bay but wonder if I'm making a mistake...HELP

I probably wouldnt run it. Kit it out, make it complete and 'runable' and put it on the shelf/sell it.
I probably have the last NIB PTI Goliath that I'm debating on building or not.

Unfortunately, there are no more parts available to make it more complete than it sits as it was never sold. I think the tires were models not yet released (HPI Sedona?) and the wheels were simply Wheely King or Crawler kings used for the Toy Fair. No specific body or electronics were designated before the project was dropped.

I have a problem with leaving things alone on a shelf which is why i listed it for sale. I like the uniqueness but don't have the metal to resist the urge to "try it out, just once" lol

Lol this is my dilemma and the struggle is real... My R/C collection spans about 20 years and consists of about 50 runners and a dozen shelf queens of all makes and models.
