How to Sand and Seal carbon fiber:

Charts for Quick reference:

1) put inner bearing in hub
2) slide large shim over axle all the way up to the back of the axle
3) slide axle/bone into hub carrier
4) slide small shim onto axle through hub carrier
5) push outter bearing into hub carrier

using that i'm able to put my normal male silverback gorilla wheel nut tightening job and there's no binding. in the pictures that come with the shims (the pic socket posted) it seems like they want you to slide both shims onto the axle before sliding the axle into the hub carrier and like i said, that doesn't work.

I've traditionally done the diff screw head on the left side (driver's side), but have since switched to the Right side (passenger side) regardless of transmission type (3 gear RM vs 3 gear MM and 4 gear MM).

Kdub (Kurt Wenger, former AE designer) had this to say on the matter:

The right rear is the way the AE manuals state (or used to state). It really shouldn't matter since you go around turns both left and right.

It does actually prevent delamination in crashes. I usually seal the edges with CA to prevent on my racing drones otherwise on 60mph+ crashes it will delaminate, and those frames are straight CF.

I had issues trying to run certain gearing combos with my B5 (17.5). Motor plate slots weren't the issue, motor hitting the gear box was. Mr. Dremel wasn't fixing that.

Maybe the B6d is different? IDK

I sand/smooth/round the edges.. "color" the edge with a black Sharpie, then CA.

Result, crazy sexy black shiny CF edges...I get more chicks since AE went to CF towers

(my wife reads this, rollers her eyes and sarcastically says "you're an idiot").... shes right, as always

All in good fun my friend

Looking to do a teardown and rebuild this weekend to prep for upcoming races.

For you "long time" owners, are there any areas I should keep an eye on when doing rebuild that you see specific to the B6/B6D?

Also, for the chassis protector sheets are you guys running the screws through them so you can still get access to remove things or pulling them when needed?

spoke with rep from amain they are looking to carry the rest of the VRP towers soon.

Maybe someone can laymen terms explain what you gain with the VRP towers with the outer hole removed and what conditions is it best for?
