Charts for Quick reference:

1) put inner bearing in hub
2) slide large shim over axle all the way up to the back of the axle
3) slide axle/bone into hub carrier
4) slide small shim onto axle through hub carrier
5) push outter bearing into hub carrier

using that i'm able to put my normal male silverback gorilla wheel nut tightening job and there's no binding. in the pictures that come with the shims (the pic socket posted) it seems like they want you to slide both shims onto the axle before sliding the axle into the hub carrier and like i said, that doesn't work.

I've traditionally done the diff screw head on the left side (driver's side), but have since switched to the Right side (passenger side) regardless of transmission type (3 gear RM vs 3 gear MM and 4 gear MM).

Kdub (Kurt Wenger, former AE designer) had this to say on the matter:

The right rear is the way the AE manuals state (or used to state). It really shouldn't matter since you go around turns both left and right.

How could there possibly be 75 pages of information already? Almost none of you have kits that's a lot of excitement and anticipation.

From what I have heard...no shops in the USA can sell until the 11th. I wouldn't worry about what amain posts because I honestly think they have no clue when they are getting them. It would make sense for them to be received Thursday / Friday so they can be ready to ship on Monday though.

It showed in stock limited quantities. So I placed my order and I checked stock again. It showed out of stock.

That would be lame.....since the rest of the work is selling the kits....

Whuuut?

"Yeah dude...see that stack of B6/B6D kits? Can't sell'em to ya, gotta wait until the 11th."

Why do I not see that happening...

It's easy to not sell it when the shops wont have them until that date. AE has stock of both kits and parts but have been holding out. Building anticipation for sure...I don't understand the reasoning behind the 11th but it is what it is.

Well that I'll buy Matt - if they don't have the kits to sell...sure.

The two shop owners I know would gladly pass out the kits to customers just to stop the noise.

11th Release date coincides with the announcement of the new wheeler.

I am just building the new B44.3 now I bought in November, LOL.

This is like Apple iPhone 4 and other crazy Apple launches. We don't know how many phone units we are getting in. I am not sure we get them on launch day. When is launch day? Just show up everyday until you get one and run around store to store like a silly idiot until you get one.
