Charts for Quick reference:

1) put inner bearing in hub
2) slide large shim over axle all the way up to the back of the axle
3) slide axle/bone into hub carrier
4) slide small shim onto axle through hub carrier
5) push outter bearing into hub carrier

using that i'm able to put my normal male silverback gorilla wheel nut tightening job and there's no binding. in the pictures that come with the shims (the pic socket posted) it seems like they want you to slide both shims onto the axle before sliding the axle into the hub carrier and like i said, that doesn't work.

I've traditionally done the diff screw head on the left side (driver's side), but have since switched to the Right side (passenger side) regardless of transmission type (3 gear RM vs 3 gear MM and 4 gear MM).

Kdub (Kurt Wenger, former AE designer) had this to say on the matter:

The right rear is the way the AE manuals state (or used to state). It really shouldn't matter since you go around turns both left and right.

How do we achieve a +1mm front axle height in this kit? The kit setup says "0" while most other setups say +1. My B6D came with two inserts, 3mm on top of the C hub and 1mm on bottom. Am I missing something?

So ive decided to run either a shorty pack or brick pack in my B6D.
Its still staying as a latemodel thou, as that's why I bought it to run it in that dirt oval class.

The D comes with a 3 and a 0, you need to buy the extra ones like stated before to get the 1. So if you want a 1 on the bottom then there would be a 2 on the top.
The 0 is actually .5mm thick so its a little confusing. You basically have a total combination between the top and bottom of 3mm

Those are used by some people in conjunction with the bmi racing aluminum hub inserts. It moves the axle out and decreases the extreme angle of the cva's. There's some discussion about it on here. I liked it a lot with the 5mm hexes in the rear.

Default Laydown

Where can I find the steps to install a laydown on a B6D? Is it just take out the stand up and put the laydown in? Any info helps.
Thanks

I have to be out that way for work later this week and plan on stopping by for a few hours of practice and to test some tuning options. The car is setup pretty close to stock set up with a laydown transmission with the shocks in the rear of the tower. I plan on testing the shocks in the front of the tower. The issues I am having is it wants to break loose around half throttle when turning but the higher speed turns it holds up pretty well. Also if I apply the brakes it comes around fast. Some ideas I plan on testing are:

Move rear shocks in front of tower
Continue to adjust esc brake strength (already set pretty low)
Add travel limiters in rear shocks hoping to give more control when using brakes
Install front wing for additional front bite - even though it is pretty good
Testing pivot positions within the C&D blocks - Currently set middle / middle on both blocks.

Overall I am pleased with the handling but just want to make it better. Having the ability to brake would help as well as being able to accelerate harder in a turn. Also what are the advantages to wider / narrow and higher / lower pivot points?
This is one of those things where nobody could really give you decent advice without knowing your exact set up, the condition of your car, and have some knowledge of the surface. Its not all the same. My recommendation is to find somebody at the track that has the same car and isn't having your issues and then check his/her car. I, myself, just had to take business trip out to San Diego. Since I was there I decided to cart along 3 of my RC cars so that I could run some laps at SDRC (sort of bucket list thing....SDRC is 200 miles away). My car [B6] wasn't feeling that great so I walked up to a local and did exactly as I suggested. I asked for advice. The local picked up my car made some observations and then tightened my diff for me! Turned out that my set up was nearly identical to his but a loose diff and lack of tire sauce was causing my rear end to come out from under me on hard acceleration. Anywho, the moral of the story is "ask a local". Dakota Phend was there railing some laps too but I didn't bother him.....true story! Happened yesterday.

I ran the new Schelle Racing 65mm lightweight dog bones tonight. I got them from Kurt and I am sure glad I ran them. I ran them with the stock b6 diff and stock axles. The 65 are for stock cars and the 67mm are for the BMI inserts. The car was locked in , in the rear and worked great for the main. That was the only change for OCRC tonight and I improved from a fast lap of 22.3 to a 21.8.

Definitely give them a try and see for yourself.

how are they better than the AE 65mm bones? Besides a very slight weight change.
