Charts for Quick reference:

1) put inner bearing in hub
2) slide large shim over axle all the way up to the back of the axle
3) slide axle/bone into hub carrier
4) slide small shim onto axle through hub carrier
5) push outter bearing into hub carrier

using that i'm able to put my normal male silverback gorilla wheel nut tightening job and there's no binding. in the pictures that come with the shims (the pic socket posted) it seems like they want you to slide both shims onto the axle before sliding the axle into the hub carrier and like i said, that doesn't work.

I've traditionally done the diff screw head on the left side (driver's side), but have since switched to the Right side (passenger side) regardless of transmission type (3 gear RM vs 3 gear MM and 4 gear MM).

Kdub (Kurt Wenger, former AE designer) had this to say on the matter:

The right rear is the way the AE manuals state (or used to state). It really shouldn't matter since you go around turns both left and right.

Thus why I think it will be the first mod someone will try. That or a 3D printed 4 gear setup for the dirt car.

Yes... I will be making an appearance in the low main of stock buggy with my outdated 1500 gram B5m and an appearance in the lower main of 13.5 4W with my BJ4 v44.3..

My privateer/Fanboy part of the team is starting to pay off...

This is already listed as an option in the Spec PDF from AE, no need to print one.

• 4-gear standup transmission available as option

What's confusing is Kody said the shacks cannot be mounted in front of the A arm on the D model just the carpet version yet the features list says it can. hmmmmm must be a typo.

I think it's the transmission that dictates whether the shocks can be mounted in front or not. So I think technically you can move the shocks forward on the B6D, but you'd have to have the laydown installed. So their spec sheet is either slightly misleading (needs an asterisk), or it's a typo like you said.

correct. you can, but you need the laydown tranny.

I hope someone can clarify this. Why would the change in trany mean that the shocks can't be mounted in front? The chassis is the same so the outdrives should be in the same location right? Well if that is the case then all that one would need to do is to make a brace that attaches the transmission to the tower? I have to take a better look at the pics again.

Look at the top down picture....Im going to guess that the gear cover is keeping you from moving the shocks to the front of the arm in B6D config...That and based on the location of the tower on the B6D trans, you would need to space the shocks quite a bit forward at the upper shock mount.

I dont think the B6D transmission case even has the ability to move the tower forward

I think the B5 will be around for awhile. The B5M series is discontinued now on the AE website but the B5 is still listed as a current buggy.
