I ordered the xfactory towers from amain as backups. They look pretty nice and have a little more material in some areas. I have yet to run them so I cant comment on any improvement over stock. I would have preferred to get the factory rc towers but who knows when they will actually have them is stock.

I cant post pictures of my car online atm. But I took some scrap aluminum. used an existing tower to trace the top 1/3 of the tower. Used an automatic punch to make the holes for the shocks. then I used a cut off wheel and a sanding drum from my dremel to cut/shape the piece. Then i slightly undersized the shock mount holes and 3m tapped them. I then bolted it up the the tower. marked any areas needing a little more material used, then used my sanding wheel to finish it off. The alum is 2mm thick. Took me about 30 minutes to make it. I have had it on the car for about a month, with it attached to a cracked tower. The tower has not broken any more, so the piece seems to work. the brace is less than a gram.

They designed them to break. Nothing else on the car does. If they didn't make them to break, they wouldn't make any money after the sale of the unit, so they focused on a more expensive piece. Everything wears out on your automobiles for a reason

Mine must be defective then because I haven't broken it yet. Come to think of it, all the ones at my local track must be defective because I haven't seen any of theirs break either. I think I am gonna call AE tomorrow and complain that the part "they designed to break" has not broken yet on my car and I want them to ship me some pre-broken ones because "some guy on RCTech" told me they are supposed to break.

What other parts do I need to run the b5m kashima shocks? Is it worthwhile doing this? I have some sitting around. Thx much
