Charts for Quick reference:

1) put inner bearing in hub
2) slide large shim over axle all the way up to the back of the axle
3) slide axle/bone into hub carrier
4) slide small shim onto axle through hub carrier
5) push outter bearing into hub carrier

using that i'm able to put my normal male silverback gorilla wheel nut tightening job and there's no binding. in the pictures that come with the shims (the pic socket posted) it seems like they want you to slide both shims onto the axle before sliding the axle into the hub carrier and like i said, that doesn't work.

I've traditionally done the diff screw head on the left side (driver's side), but have since switched to the Right side (passenger side) regardless of transmission type (3 gear RM vs 3 gear MM and 4 gear MM).

Kdub (Kurt Wenger, former AE designer) had this to say on the matter:

The right rear is the way the AE manuals state (or used to state). It really shouldn't matter since you go around turns both left and right.

That would help. We have LA Parts House and Tower not getting their kits from their distributors (Great Planes) until mid July. Amain still lists June 17th for their supplies to arrive. I would be pissed if my competition got their kits a month before me.
I wonder when HRP distribution will be sending their stock out to retailers?

It doesn't benefit AE to keep used B5m prices up. If they announced and released days apart the potential buyers of used B5m kits would be for forced to greatly consider a new b6. Also, B5m used kits would be so low that potential new hobbiests may jump in with screaming good deals.

Example is the iPhone. Apple announces the new phone, gives concrete release dates that are days away from the intial announcement and they artificially control supply to create hype after the release (in reality there are always enough iphones available for everyone, but the post release hype drives more excitement as people start to see them around)

They will all get kits around same time. Amain just hasn't updated their date yet.

Am I the only one that wants a kit with all/any running changes that add or change in a lot of kits including the b5m?

Maybe I am one of that wants the build kinks and updates to be included in my box while a lot of the first guys have to be the mass testers I guess but u get to talk about your b6 first

I think what he means is that he'll wait a while to see if the new car has any issues out of the gate before he buys one.

Hey the car could be out in Israel and Pakastan, Chile and Indonesia before the USA too. It happened with the RC8B3.

As I stated before the manuals will be up on the website 2-3 weeks before the car hits the first shelves. They want to make sure it ships from the factory and that is your boat ride to most parts of the world from Asia or internal drives on the land to Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Here is the order of stock in the USA I predict watching the B5M Lite and RC8B3, LOL

Some Hobby Shop 15 to 30 minutes away from AE in California, OCRC, Tower, GPMD, HRP, AMain, GPMD/HRP dealers.

Exactly what I mean..

You cannot be that blinded by the hype that this car will not change at all from the first ones out. A lot of times companies get feedback and make changes to make either the build better or some other issue because no car is perfect.
Even look at the B5 platform as awesome as I think the car was AE made changes along the way specifically with the FL As that was the car I had personally and the build was amazing compared to when my buddy came over for some help with his B5m kit which he got an early kit on. It wasn't bad at all but there were changes made.
I know it's not a huge deal I am just a bit more picky about my builds and I know there are others like me.
Take it easy with the crystal ball and don't be blinded by the hype.. I'm an AE fanboy and it's unrealistic to think such a big company cannot make mistakes

While I know exactly what you are saying, but to play devil's advocate... As you stated "no car is perfect." At some point you have to jump in or not. No update is perfect. It's a a never ending cycle. Jump in before we're all dead.
