In our area 1/8th gas is huge, there's about 5 tracks within an hour of here and each sees about 40 to 50 entrants a weekend.. Pretty good for BFE Wisconsin. And it's been that way for about 8 years now.

Alright I'll stop argueing now..
Thats fine, and I understand. But my point isnt that people are running it, its that not EVERYONE is. This is in comparison to 1/10 nitro is different, where normally is there is dirt, there are trucks. I think they will wait for a greater more likely successful market before diving into something as big as 1/8 scale offroad.

Considering the top 1/8 off-road manufacturer, Kyosho, has not turned a profit for something like 10 years, I think it is very clear as to why they are not making one.

runnin rc10 - Where do you live? 1/10 is almost dead most places. 1/8 buggy is the most popular off-road class right now but UMT is catching up.

I hear that sportwerks will be making it just like they make the LST. I heard this from a couple of different hobbystore owners.

Later,

Sorry, I don't know if this is redundant forum infomation. But straight from Team Losi's web site.

The Drake won the CRCRC race with a FT Jammin' X-1 CR.

The new Losi buggy will be made in the U.S., like all of Team Losi's race-bred cars. This is not a re-badging of another car, but a ground-up new design by Gil Losi Jr. and Losi's wildly intelligent group of engineers. It will be good!

There was a blurb in Xtreme RC Cars that I picked up today that someone saw a rep from AE at a LHS buying versions of all other company's competition 1/8th scale buggies. Speculation is that they are testing them to develop their own.
