Cogging help?
Since the RC zone forums are always dead, I figured I'd post it over here.
Here's some pics of my setup. It's a SS5800 (original, not the (+) system) It worked fine in my XXX-4 but since my GTB 5.5 fried in 4 seconds in the XX-4, I transplanted the SS5800 into the XX-4 pictured below. There exists massive sputtering or cogging as it's called on low throttle. Once it speeds up, it's fine. I have it set to the max speed without reverse. In the XXX-4, it was set to max speed with reverse. Anything wrong you see with my wiring? thanks, Kevin http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/11.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/12.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/13.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/14.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/15.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/16.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/17.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/18.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/19.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/20.JPG http://webpages.charter.net/kfarrelldba/xx4/21.JPG |
It's geared as purple spur (84T I think) and 21T pinion.

I don't see anything wrong, but it seems quite cramped in there.
Would you classify this as a radio glitch? OR an actual fault with the system? A lot of people have had the exact problem you are having. On another forum I remember someone suggested adding a 5000-10000mF capacitor to your battery input leads, but really, you shouldn't have to do this. Ask Charlie from Novak. |
It's not glitching, it's cogging/sputtering at low RPM. Like if your pulling in the trigger and letting off quickly it sputters. Once it gets going, it's fine.

A Novak should'nt cog.
Maybe a sensorless, but this is'nt the case. Gearing seems fine. I remember a Novak doing this and it was sent back to the factory. Have you tried it in the XXX again? |
