Default HB D815E E-Buggy

HB D815E E-Buggy

http://www.neobuggy.net/2015/12/04/h...-landing-soon/

The D815E is said to feature a narrower chassis – much like the trend set by Tekno RC’s 1/8 E-Buggys and dedicated layout of internals – expect HB’s factory drivers to receive prototypes in January, in time for Neo16 & the Dirt NC, with cars out in mid 2016.

Confused as to why go with a narrow chassis like a tekno. Narrow chassis doesnt work on blown out tracks which pretty much every US outdoor track is.

I agree on Stryker. But this is a good start.

HB should release kits on leap year. That way they can technically argue whatever year they want..

Totally true now ive had a Tekno but the SCT410 and on rough tracks compared to my D812 with a wider chassis the wider chassis is better for sure when the tracks get blown out.

They must not believe that most US tracks are like that (my local 1/8 track doesn't get too bad). The 8ight series and Tekno EB48 are undeniably successful and sell on the promise of handling. There is also a fair amount of 1/8 e-buggy happening on indoor track's these days, which are usually smooth/high grip.

Tessman was running a Tekno conversion before, shown here, if he liked it then maybe there are some hints.

Indoor 1/10th scale tracks are starting to allow E buggy. Some are limiting them to 2S, but they are.

This is where the narrow chassis would kill.

Some food for thought, taking away the plastic side guards, the Tekno v4 chassis for the D8 (long discontinued) is actually a smidge wider than the D812/D815 chassis.

I'd highly doubt it will be as narrow and claustrophobic as the Tekno EB/SCT layout, but on my D812 chassis converted electric, both sides of battery and motor do not make use of the full width of the plastic side guards, therefore narrowing them will be completely fine with me.

However, it could mean body selection/options could be more limited if you don't want a gap.

I agree. I can't see the chassis being quite as narrow as the Tekno. I sure hope not, anyway. I switched to HB from Tekno because of the stability of the car. I loved how well Tekno turned but it was too twitchy and unpredictable for me.

Nope. Seems like HPI has entered the crawler market now so so who knows where e-buggy lies on their priority list.

Torrance alluded to the name on the book of faces. IIRC It'll follow usual naming since the D812.
