I just got the avid evo slipper. Got the 72/76 stock. I had the Losi 70 just felt it need a little more off the corner.

I've been running the Schelle Nova slipper/spur setup for stock racing, it comes with a 69T spur and has quite a bit less rotating mass than the stock or AE slipper setups.
For $30 it's a nice way to lose some rotating mass without any real drawbacks.

How much less rotating mass?

First time racing the 22 3.0 after a few short practice sessions at Nor-Cal here in San Jose, CA. Qualified 4th for the 17.5 Intermediate field knowing the car was feeling pretty dialed (driver nerves didn't help thru the qualifying heats).
My Proline Primes felt better and were faster than the Jconcept Smoothies today. Biggest change from the limited practice was changing the anti-squat from 2.0 to 2.5.
Won both mains and the car handled great. Topped the final main heat by laying down a pace that was a lap faster than my previous first main heat.
Our small group of TLR guys have been racing really well lately. Here are some setup highlights:
-Exotek steering rack - really smooth and solid
-Exotek slipper eliminator with 64-pitch gearing (41/96)
-MIP Pucks/Diff package
-32.5/30wt oil, 2x1.6 all around, Kyosho gold spring all around

slipper
Avid states it is TRIAD 11.2g Vs. Stock 16.4g. 20% more torque also.

Schumacher KF vs 22 3.0
Hi
Has anyone had the KF before the 3.0, if so would you recommend the 3.0 over the KF for a beginner?
It would do seem the 3.0 will be more robust, easier to setup and drive?
I go through tyres and parts on the KF (carpet track)
Thanks

When (alas no more) we had a carpet off road track the 22 2.0 mm buggies were up there with the KFs and more durable. Worth a thought given the big savings to be had.

For those of you running a slipper eliminator, how does that affect the set up of the ball diff? I'm fairly new at this and of the mindset that the slipper should let go at some point before the diff begins to bark. With no forgiveness at the spur, how do you keep the diff from barking?
Also, for a very high traction scenario (i.e. soft pins on carpet), is it more worthwhile to switch to gear diff?

Here is the spur gear setup i made for my kid! its only 4g and very little rotating mass! made some for a few locals and no failures. we have a very hard set of doubles and so far his car is the only stock that can make them without raliling the berm in front of it, we are geared at 29/72 with a Fantom D4
