Cub86 posted the question: Hi. I'm struggling to understand the lay down situation. I run on high bite damp smooth clay and think the conversation would help on my surface but from what I'm reading I need to buy the lay down kit tlr338004. And the dirt gear case tlr332063. But do I really need both from what I've read the dirt case is 1-2mm higher anyway and u don't use the +3mm hubs or the front pivot hrc or Hrc mod. So is the dirt lay down kit tlr332063 is all that's needed to get me a lay down set up that's suited for clay With the components and car I already have. And if I only get the dirt case is there any problems that will need to be addressed IE.. bone plunge . I do know I'll need 1mm spacers on the waterfall to clear the battery. Thanks guys really trying to get my head around this.

Franks response:
Laydown Conversion will work great by itself. You run the aluminum +3mm hubs, the diff is +3.5mm, and you run the HRC front setup. Just follow a setup sheet from tlracing.com (Frank Root).

Dirt Tranny has the diff at the same height as the standard tranny case, and works with the standard plastic hubs. Both are +/- 0mm from stock. When you run this, no need to run the HRC front mod either.

I've found the stock laydown conversion parts to work great for most tracks. The dirt tranny is a great tuning option, but definitely not 'required'.

emulsion shock inserts on a 22 3.0 and config

1. I was looking at http://site.petitrc.com/setup/losi/TLR_BigBoreTips/
and my question is for option 2, is the last black piece the same as the stock 22 3.0 white cap TLR233006? My current o-ring config is black-black-gray-whitecap. Is this incorrect? What is correct?
2. What part number do I need for the emulsion style shock inserts?

Thank you!

Well I had never seen this happen either but my left rear hinge pin either broke out or the plastic rear tow block broke causing the pin to come out? Either way I have never seen this before.

I don't know anyone that still uses the 22 1.0 o-ring set up since TLR came out with the white CNC delrin spacers and new x-rings back with the 22 2.0. I know I bought you the new spacers, x-rings, and shafts for your 22 2.0 so why this post? One does not use the white delrin spacers with the old gray and black o-rings. The new white CNC delrin spacers are only for the new x-rings.
As for emulsion shocks, the spacers have nothing to do with what type of shock you run. Emulsion is a term used for bladderless shocks. The bladder is either modified or removed and replaced with an o-ring to seal the shock cap in an emulsion shock. Just use the o-rings called out in the 22 3.0 manual to run emulsion style. If you want to use bladders then you need to decide if you want vented or non-vented. But looking at most setups I see most running emulsion style.

Thanks Frank. The setups for Dakotah and Ryan are both there now.

Frank, do you know the rear spring Dakotah is using? It just says white. Could be KYO white, TLR LF white, AE white, etc...?
Thanks

Default New setup

Hi Frank!

Both setup show's servo in the back. Can we acheive this with the stock servo mount or we need the alloy?

Thx

Need the alloy. I would recommend them regardless.

Question - with the dirt transmission what differences would I expect to see if I run the 1) HRC front pivot block or 2) front LRC pivot block?

I haven't done the testing yet but wanted to see if anybody had previous experience.
