Cub86 posted the question: Hi. I'm struggling to understand the lay down situation. I run on high bite damp smooth clay and think the conversation would help on my surface but from what I'm reading I need to buy the lay down kit tlr338004. And the dirt gear case tlr332063. But do I really need both from what I've read the dirt case is 1-2mm higher anyway and u don't use the +3mm hubs or the front pivot hrc or Hrc mod. So is the dirt lay down kit tlr332063 is all that's needed to get me a lay down set up that's suited for clay With the components and car I already have. And if I only get the dirt case is there any problems that will need to be addressed IE.. bone plunge . I do know I'll need 1mm spacers on the waterfall to clear the battery. Thanks guys really trying to get my head around this.

Franks response:
Laydown Conversion will work great by itself. You run the aluminum +3mm hubs, the diff is +3.5mm, and you run the HRC front setup. Just follow a setup sheet from tlracing.com (Frank Root).

Dirt Tranny has the diff at the same height as the standard tranny case, and works with the standard plastic hubs. Both are +/- 0mm from stock. When you run this, no need to run the HRC front mod either.

I've found the stock laydown conversion parts to work great for most tracks. The dirt tranny is a great tuning option, but definitely not 'required'.

K.King
Something I made, pretty basic. Just to give people an idea.

Yes, that's pretty much the difference there. If you add the 1mm axle shim, then it will be SUPER comfortable.

Thanks Ron
Not that I know of. The balance seems to be really good with a shorty so far.

Per my Back Order listing with Horizon, 70t spurs will not be available until March 17.

Frank would you be able to verify that?

I use the schelle slipper assembly in stock with the lockout plate. Made a huge difference on med to high grip tracks.

I don't mean to get off topic, I wanted to do something nice for a fellow racer.

Vito, I know of your challenges with dyslexia and other things. And some guys give you a hard time on here because they don't understand your situation. So, if you can wait a week or two and would like to send me your 3.0 body, I will paint what ever design you like for free at Mile High Kustoms. I have most of my work on the Mile High Kustoms facebook page. PM me, I would be happy to help.

OK, to be fair, I was running green wheels, but that is NOT a 22 and it's purple. And it says Associated and B5 on it.
Wrong thread.

Been really pleased with my 2.0, but from what I'm reading about the new 3.0, I can hardly wait to get my hands on one! Car looks awesome

Waiting patiently; sort of. This will be my first 2 wheeler buggy ever. Got the 22T 2.0 last summer when it came out and that was my very offroad 2 wheeler ever. Really liking it. At 53 yr young I figured I need to round out my Losi 22 arsenal to to go with my 22-4 and SCT and Truggy. TLR make it easier to be competitive right out of the box. Thanks Guys for the hard work.
