Arrow Mugen MST-1 .....

Never new Mugen would ever come out with a nitro truck. I was looking at RCCA Nitro and it looks like a really nice deal.

Engine looks awesome, with a slide carb and rear exhaust. Shocks are top quality, and the chassiss is 3mm! I think this will be some decent competition with Losi and Associated. I also like the looks of the disk brake. Much better design than the RC10GT. The top deck also is a cool deal where you can romove all the electrons and fuel tank.

What are ur guys' ideas about this new Mugen MST-1?

There was one at the track for the last race of the season, it was quick (very nice engine) and handled well (grass track) but it didn't go for very long because it crashed and the rear axle broke! This was after about 4 minutes racing and due to the driver and not the truck
I want one

My first off-road car but from what I know: NICE! The engine is a real screamer. One thing I would like to see though is a stiffer upperdeck.

Well, the chassiss is 3mm thick which is pretty darn strong, and the rc10gt doesn't even have an upper deck with a 2.5 mm chasiss.

The price also looks a bit high, but it does come with a sweet engine and pipe.

Mine arrived today.
Same awesome quality that I'm used to from my Mugen onroad cars.

This is gonna be a winner...

The price is not high if you know where to shop. Best place: www.ultimatehobbies.com I got it for $349(chance encounter) but after tax it is about the same as Ultimate. Oh I forgot to mention that the engine is rediculously tight. I had gone through 7 charges of my batts. before I got the engine broken in. Never ever have I encountered such a tight engine(had Novas before but they were never this tight!). The upper deck is fine, I just would like to see it stiffer. I want some graphite shocktowers too come to think of it.

What do you owners think of possibility of a 'Pro version' or similar coming out later, likely or not? Are there any Mugen upgrades that are not included?

My buddy has one and the only issue so far is the rear drive axles keep breaking. He also had to drill the shock pistons to a bigger dia....

That does sound like quite a big problem. I was suprised when the MST-1 at the track crashed (right next to me, I was marshalling) and the wheel rolled off down the track. It was quite a serious crash but I didn't expect that particular part to break.
I hope they sort it out soon

I talked to a guy who was given one of the very first ones to test. He explained that the reason the axles are breaking is because they decided to use a thicker axle pin. Well, unfortunately this made the hole in the axle larger and weaker at that point. He said they've already made some adjustments and a rolling fix should be coming. Looks like a great truck. I'm itching to get my hands on one.

Default Sorry,

but that was my first offoad race in almost 10 years.

to me, the track handled wonderfull, even with that powerfull engine on a relatively small track.
