b4.2 tire selection help
i have a b4.2 and I'm curious as to what other people run on theres or a 1/10 scale buggy alike. the track is an outdoor hard packed clay with a little amount of dust. the track gets blown off and watered after each qual segment. but by the time my class is up its pretty dusty. track is pretty smooth if that has any play in the desicion of tire choice thanks.

I raced a B4.2 twice a week on an outdoor track all summer and found that rear tire selection is the number 1 most effective setup option. Our track would change through out the course of the day depending on wind, sun, watering, what class ran before 2wd buggy, sweeping etc. What worked one round may not work the next. I have not tried Holeshots but Blockades worked well under most conditions, Bowties worked well and had amazing drive when fresh but the performance fell off more quickly, Tazers worked especially well if there was a layer of fine dust. If we were up right after the nitro classes and the track had a significant layer of dirt on top of the hard pack then DB Multibytes worked well both front and back. After spending a lot of time adjusting weight balance and suspension settings to get more grip I have reverted back to the stock factory settings more or less and now concentrate on tires. Towards the end of the season I tried soft AKA closed cell foams and they were awesome. The front ones worked well with Proline 4-ribs by giving the tire a bit of a crown. That's been my experience. Hope it helps.
