I had big issues breaking in the ball diff this morning. Long story short, there's a washer on the inside of the thrust bearing and nothing on the outside. My snap ring pliers are broken so I won't be investigating further right now, but I'm thinking both washers got put on the inside instead of one on each side.

I know several of the European distributors did.
Your best bet is to send them an email and just ask.
I'm sure they will be happy to let you know when they expect their next shipment
Thanks Hairymuffin

I havent driven the xb2 yet but I swore I saw black grease on the thurst washer outside of the diff and opened the diff itself and saw clear diff grease on the diff balls.. now I'm second guessing myself and will take it apart tonight before break-in and run.

Will Xray be releasing chassis protector sheets for the XB2 and XB4 '16?

Yeah, I built 2 cars and there was a light coating of oil throughout the diffs, but no silicone grease on the ring or balls and no black grease on the thrust bearing. The nice thing is the thrust bearing is caged and it's huge compared to other ball diffs, it's a really nice ball diff. It's the only ball diff I've built that is as smooth as a kyosho ball diff. The gear diff is second to none though...

We added the ball diffs to the 1st batch only. Our 2nd shipment of Carpet Edition kits is expected to arrive at our warehouse next week.
As XRAY has shown, the Dirt Edition parts and kits are still in production, but we are optimistic we will see them completed some time next month.
I also wanted to thank BentKa for his customer assistance in the XB2/XB4 threads.
