Can anyone confirm that shocks pistons of the XB2 are the same dimensions as the XB4 ones?

If all of the info is right it seems as though you will only need 2 pieces that are different from the carpet car, The gearbox and motor plate.
You may need a couple other small things but those are the two main ones. The rest of the car is all the same between the two additions.

The release also states a different waterfall and battery brace will be needed

We have no idea about what the dirt version will come with, it's not out yet.
I didn't think they would have include two sets of composite parts on the carpet edition, they will balance both kits parts wise for sure so who knows, it could come with two gearboxes.
I'm curious to test the carpet with medium parts and shocks on the rear on medium traction. I'm also wondering if we need to go all in and change all the parts to either medium or hard or if we could go subtle and mix them (Bent ?)
I like the fact that they include those two sets of parts, besides tuneability this is also a good spare set just in case something breaks (I wouldn't be concern to change casterblocs in case I broke one and finish the race).
Regarding pistons they look thinner than the standard so I don't think you will be able to fit Kyosho/AE ones, don't know about Losi. I like Schelle machined ones myself and they have a specific range for Xray.

Shocks and pistons are the same as the XB4 '16.

I have to say lots of your posts collected from forums are very useful, either concerning Xray or Orca. Guess you could write a 1/10th off-road book for Juraj to print.
The cars are great, relaxing to know you could push and the car will not break at first crash plus support is great and very precise.
I should have mine in a few days, can't wait to run it, especially find out how stable the car is compare to others laydown cars.
It would be nice to know what basic springs and options set could be useful at first and if you run some weight somewhere so we can plan ahead.

Everything is telling me to get the carpet and then add the dirt tranny and motor plate later. I mainly run on clay. 75% of the time, the tracks are grooved up in the line and slightly dusty outside. Thoughts?

I've more chance of finding hens teeth in Australia than a front or rear arm, bulkhead, spur...one break and I'm out of action.
If anyone knows of a reliable supplier that will ship to Australia please feel free to send me their website address.
Thanks!!

Do you know if this will include XB4 16 spare parts?

My local hobby store still doesn't start to take the pre-order yet. So doesn't know will the kit will come with additional ball diff or not. If do, I will go in this way. Thanks of your idea.

Would be nice to see some photos of kit configured with the "Dirt" Edition mid motor setup...

On smaller tighter tracks we run it unweighted.
For the EOS we ran a brass bulkhead and weight plate under the LiPo.
We also run 2 hole pistons……. 2x1.6 and 2x1.7
