IMHO the better the grip the better the XB2 CE gets. As soon as the grip falls to somewhere in the medium range it really falls on it's face. I would assume this is where the dirt version steps in.

Hey Eric, I had to cut mine back a few mm so that wouldn't happen....

I was trying to address this but might not have made it clear. If I'm understanding it correctly adjusting a ball washer on either end will adjust camber gain. Adding or removing equal amounts to both sides will leave the camber gain the same (kinda) but change the roll center.
I guess the most layman way I can express this is like the difference between using a wrench thats a foot long as opposed to a 6" wrench. The closer the camber link is to the arm the more leverage it has in the whole assembly. I could be way off in the weeds but that's the way I see it in my head

Yes, but what about moving the whole link up or down. Equal amounts, like say 2mm on each end. Does that change anything? Just trying to figure out why they run so many shims. Most setup are 6/4, is that the same as 2/0?[/
I found out the reason they run 6/4. The aluminum hubs and inner plate are 1.5mm lower. Thus 6/4 is the same as 4/2 with the stock components.

Which version would you guys recommand on a medium-high bite clay surface? Dirt or carpet?
And what are you guys's thought on the 2018. Wondering whether or not to get a new kit or pick up a used 2017 / 2016. I only occasionally race at club level and I am planning on building this for mod.
Any inputs are appreciated.

I am just putting mine together for carpet but now I may just run it on med bite clay like you are. How well do you think it will work with the gear diff?

I'm running the hybrid w/ laydown on a medium grip untreated clay/topsoil indoor track. Its my first 2wd buggy ever but I think it has plenty of grip. My practice fast laps were a little less then a second off the pace of the fastest guys. I'm running the dirt car's base set up w/ out any changes except shocks on the back of rear arms. Great build and unmatched quality/fit.

What aluminum servo horn is everyone using to get the same throw and angle of the link as with the original stock plastic one?

I see a lot of X-ray drivers not using sway bars. On hi grip carpet are sway bars ideal? Front and rear? Thx
