Default What 4wd SCT to run?

Need to find a used 4x4 SCT to race at the LHS (Indoor). What should I look into or avoid? And what upgrades/mods should I look into or avoid?

Need opinions. Thanks!

If it was me, I would look into getting a SC10 4x4...just avoid any of the obvious signs in a used one ,such as any clicking sound coming from the belt adjusters they are plastic and tend to strip if over burdened...also if allowed take the slipper cover off and just turn the spur gear if a motor isn't installed and see how the wheels turn and if it feels a little grindy feeling, and see how the stance of the truck sits as in how the wheels sit on the ground.
As for upgrades and mods, that really depends on what class you are running and what type a track your on...regardless good tires, good servo and good shocks...and time on the track and input from local racers is a valuable start.
Practice days at the track are your friend, you can run and most tracks will give lap time so you can tweak to match your drive style...Hope this help...(now I want to race again)...lol

If you intend to race in your lhs get tekno sct410/ sct410.3 the best SC in the market also durable in any SC. With out any upgrade the tekno sct410 is the best suite for you.

Tekno trucks totally dominate at our local track. They look like they drive themselves, just so smooth

Tekno or the new Durango, both are built like 1/8 buggies, makes them slightly heavier than other brands but you get big 15/16mm 1/8 style shocks and are super tough!

Both Tekno sct410.3 and Losi scte.2 are great trucks. You can't go wrong with those...just look and see which trucks you local hobby shop support with parts you might need.

The Durango DESC10 is absolutely awesome. I've raced a first gen SCTE, and MIP SCTE, DESC410V2, and lastly the SCT410. The Tekno is a great truck and I haven't had the chance to drive the new one, the new Durango is spectacular! Little by little I think were going to see more manufactures going to a pillow ball suspension. The quality is great so far. I've been racing the truck since they were released and have yet to have a failure. I know it's a bit more expensive than the Tekno, but I would definitely give it a good look before you purchase anything else.

INTECH ersc 10
Durango Desc10
Each one has amazing steering off the shelf.

The tekno is a great truck for indoor racing it will work excellent.

The place I felt the durango DESC10 was better than my tekno (mind you v1) that I worked on for awhile was out on true dirt tracks. The tekno was never confident around the track as I wanted, and I never found a setup posted by Tekno to address true dirt track conditions.

I think though I was on the right track with some shock changes, but it felt like a lot of compromise versus what other drivers with Losi's were doing for grip versus handling versus in air jump handling.

I tried the Durango on a suggestion that it was much more planted than the tekno and I was very surprised how planted it was and how much steering it had. It also didn't have any of that weird nose down issues that would pop up with the Tekno. If the class had not dried up where I planned to race it, I would have kept it.

My local racer had 3 SC truck tekno 410, 410.3 and DESC10. I got info from him never drove his DESC10 but said he like more better the 410.3 it easy to drive than DESC10 and also the weight of the DESC10 not happy. Now he is selling DESC10 and keep the 410.3. I also have 410 and 410.3 the new kit is more nimble than the old kit it easy to drive. IMO
