Make your own carbon fiber parts?
One thing I have always wanted to do was make my own carbon fiber parts. Things like battery straps, and front and rears towers, really anything. I have done some searching on here and haven't seen much info on here, does anybody have much experience doing this without any special tools? I was thinking that maybe with a certain bit in the dremel and using the existing pieces at templates it wouldn't be completely terrible. Also any good places to buy sheets of it? Thanks

You can do things by your self, i cut the sheets with a band saw and/or with a dremel, for example, but your drill/cut tools wear fast.
I use some titanium, or diamond coated tools, for example.
Be careful and protect your lungs, with a good mask from the dust.
About to get sheets in USA, i cant tell, as i'm from europe...

I have 20 years running a CNC and 5 years programming, and have done several of my own chassis, towers and other parts. to me doing anything other than basic stuff and quick fix parts will not be as accurate in hand cutting with saws and dermal tools, and you need very good eye protections and a dust mask to protect your lungs. I used a vacuum to help as well to help suck up any particles as it cuts. And yes it is very abrasive on tools.

it's honestly fine dremeling carbon stuff, make sure to wear mask and do it in your garage. I would keep the garage door open and the vacuum everything after
