Welcome to the EB48.3 Wiki

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 3 Step K-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 12 Step I-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

i haven't had any issues with it fitting, i have the 6500/60 and the new 6700/90. As long as I have the wires pushed to the middle of the car its fine.

Hi guys, quick question: what's the smallest pinion one could use with the 44T spur and a 42 mm diameter motor before motor hits the chassis brace?

Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind, search first, ask later would have been better :

If you run the old diff mount (and omit the center brace - or shave it down a lot) you should be able to fit a 12, definitely a 13. I haven't run a motor that needs to geared that low in a long time and I can't remember for sure if the 12 fits. A 13 will (with the old mount) and gives you the same top speed as a 1900kv motor geared 18/44. A 14 tooth is a little faster than a 1900 geared 19/44.

I see. It does fit that way. I'm a little worried about the wires hitting the drivetrain especially landing a jump. Any issues with that or how are you preventing that?

Can anyone recommend a setup station that would work for a 10th scale short course truck , 8th scale buggy and 10th scale touring car? or do these have to all be bought separately.

I think the touring car poses a problem for one station to do it all.
My Hudy 1/8 station will work with my SCT410, EB48 and ET48 (with truggy plate).
Touring car is so much lower I would think you need touring car specific adjuster plates.

Does anybody have experience withe the Hobbywing XR8 SCT in the EB48.3?

Size wise it should be perfect as it is 30% smaller than the XR8 PLUS.

However the Hobbywing site states the SCT is 150A, all dealer sites state that it is 140A.

I've ran the older sct pro in my ebuggy for almost 2 seasons now, only thing I've had to do is replace the esc fan a few times.

I run the XR8 SCT in my ET48.3 and will be replacing the XR8 Plus in my EB48.3 with the XR8 SCT tonight.

Nothing wrong with the Plus - it's a smooth, powerful and adjustable speedo. But like you pointed out, the SCT is smaller and easier to fit in the Tekno vehicles. I really had a tight fit with the Plus in the truggy with a 72mm motor. And I have to say that the SCT feels more responsive.

On sale at Amain for $429, then they gave me the tower coupon ($48 off $399), so $328 shipped.

I was looking really hard at the RC8B3e at tower ($450). Happy with the EB. I'm getting started, so if they are blowing out last years model, I am ok with it.
