Welcome to the EB48.3 Wiki

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 – Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 – Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 – Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 – Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T – Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T – Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 – Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 3 Step K-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 12 Step I-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Is it happening on the same shock?

Yeah, more mah is supposed to have more capacity, but it is also capable of releasing more power. The C rating also plays in the power a battery can release. Max power at any particular time is voltage x (amps x C rating). Anyway, SMC is a good battery. I would almost recommend using at least a 5000mah.

does tekno release a new ebuggy every year? im trying to decide if buying a new ebuggy would be a good idea this month or to wait until maybe September?

im also kind of torn between the TLR 8 4.0 and the tekno, but severely leaning toward the techno. I just have all TLR 10th scale...but...

They release basically whenever is logical. For example, there were a ton of new parts from .1 to .2, so .2 is a roll-up of all the changes between kits. .3 includes changes between .2 and .3, plus major suspension geometry changes.

There have been a few small changes here and there to the .3, but all in all it's still pretty much box stock. So in other words, I personally wouldn't envision a .4 anytime soon. That's my my guess.

Yeah I was looking at the SMC website, ive definitely gotten a ton of recommendations so ill go with them.

if Im running a trackstar 1900 or 2100kv and a trackstar esc with a protek 130 Torwue serov in an eb48.3 what battery do you guys recommend? the 5200mah one?

Im also undecided to run the 2100kv or wait for the 1900kv trackstar which is currently out of stock

I can't speak for trackstar, but my tekin 1900 was noticeably smoother than my tekin 2150.

Default Trackstar Motor Question

The 1900kv has been out of stock for like 2 weeks but they have the 2100kv in stock.

is there a reason to not get the 2100 and wait for the 1900kv?

Im going to be running a 4s lipo setup with a protek 130 Servo

+1 on the SMC 1900 motor. I've run that motor since last September and love it. Smooth and powerful. Runs a little warm though.

Meaning Tekno hasn't released many "option parts" since the original .3 kit so far. Most (including team) are still running the stock .3 components with some upgrades like maybe universals if logical at your track. Hence, it seems unlikely a new kit will come out soon.

Basically they're not like some companies that will come up with a reason to release a new kit every x days/years for obvious profit reasons, they release one when it makes technically sense A company, a team, and a support staff of racers. Even the awesome dudes packing the Tekno awesomeness into boxes are like, is it race day yet?

got ya, thank you. looks like ill be ordered a tekno soon.

when can i have access to the for sale forum? i need to sell a brand new TLR 22SCT 2.0 and a refurbished losi xxx-sct w buggy chassis. that will take some off the $1200 hit for a nice full eb48.3 kit with a few parts.
