Welcome to the EB48.3 Wiki

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 3 Step K-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 12 Step I-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Mine is on the way but I won't be able to run it for a few weeks because I'll be on vacation. I get to come home and build it on a Friday and race it on Saturday.

About halfway done with my build. Already built and been running the 410.3 so it's been really smooth. Really impressed with the differences between the SCT410.3 and the EB48.3. More aluminum gears, everything seems just more beefy and stronger (obviously more power).

Should have all the electronics in tonight and maybe a test drive!!!

Forgot to mention. The front seems really soft with the piston/oil set up. I changed the rear to 3000 oil and lengthened the wheel base. It seemed to help the sct.

I thought mine felt way to stiff with the box setup. Went Associated 30/35 oil gry/yel springs

Just started building mine last night and was wondering if anybody else had got any bent drive shafts? So far I 2 in my kit and havnt looked at the other ones yet. Also seeing a good amount of front to back play in the rear hubs with the 5mm spacers and was wondering if this is normal.

I got mine yesterday at 4pm by 4:30 I had started the build and by 12 it was done painted body and all. The only change I made was Kyosho Orange springs all the way around and lowering the droop for today's club race. Car felt really good taking the tq and win today.

What made you go with the Kyosho Orange springs? Did you run all rear springs (front and rear) or did you run the short fronts up front?

I have had a 410 for awhile now and have been running them with great success. I kept my springs when I sold my rc8 so I thought I would try them out. They are the short and long but I was still able to get the ride height. The next thing I want to try is 7/7/3 in the diffs and see what that does.

Finally had a chance to get mine out today. It's a big change from the .2 for sure. Jumps and lands GREAT, good in the bumps. Our track is low-medium grip, high speed, with big jumps. It lacked a bit of stability with the stock 5-5-5 diff setup, and I feel the car is a bit under sprung. I am going to switch the diffs to 7-5-3 or 7-5-2 and go up to pink front / red rear springs. We'll see where that leads.
